I walked a dealers lot yesterday just to look at the colors! Still not 100% sure, but I do like the Silver. Velocity Red is running in second place right now.

I regret my colour. I feel RED is the best. It totally suits the vehicle and if I had to do it again it would be VELOCITY RED!!

Don't think I have seen a color I don't like...you can't go wrong. I went yellow...no regrets here.

For me it was a tossup between the Ti-grey and the yellow. The Ti really looks "rich" and is very attractive, but the yellow is SO sporty looking. I was reluctant to get the yellow because it is so flashy, but I went with the yellow anyway. No regrets at all. Now when I look at it in the driveway, I think "How could you NOT go with yellow on this car!" Especially when I heard yellow was discontinued for '05, I was really glad I went with it.

A silver drove past me today and they look VERY nice. All the lines are nicely defined.

I went with the blue through process of elimination! I saw a black on the freeway and noticed (as cgrx said) that the colour masked the beautiful lines.....and it's a bitch to keep clean. I thought the silver/grey colours were a bit too conservative (and I never saw one in the showroom that had a decent bumper/body paint match), the red too flashy ('cos of the mica in the paint), the yellow too in your face, and I didn't consider green, too much like black!!!

That said, I have yet to see a green one. I am unaware of anyone in Australia who has bought one! So I got the slightly less flashy blue!

I reckon the white would have been great had it been available....the most conservative of all colours, go figure!

We all have our own opinions, it is such a personal thing, just try to see as many as you can side by side.......and make your final choice after seeing the car outside in full sunlight. That is the way you are going to see it 90% of the time at home, so ensure you see it that way at the dealers!

Happy hunting, Gomez. :D

It is very interesting. Two of the most popular and admired 8's on this forum are both black. Cortc, and FE3P both have beautiful cars. Nothing looks as good as a clean black 8. Alot of people complain about how hard black is to keep clean. IMO, most people who buy the 8 are car people who don't let their cars get filthy anyway. I wash mine once per week, and it always looks good.

F Me Red

I went for a test drive, I liked the yellow. Took it by this girl's house and she asked "does it come in red". Went back to the dealer got a red one and went back to her house she said "thats it". Went back to the dealer and bought the red. Haven't seen the girl since, that was October. In '91 when I bought my Miata I asked the dealer which color was selling the least. At that time it was Marina Blue so that is what I bought. I didn't want to be everyone else and buy a red or white one.

Back to the title. After I bought the red RX, I went to the dealer for some touch up paint. The parts guy aked what color, I told him "F Me Red". So now that is what they call my car. That was the favorite color of lickstick that some girl I used to know wore.

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

Besides showing the dirt, black is also a very hot color inside as the sun is absorbed more. Red is nice, but attracts the cops too much. Even though a lot of 8 owners like the silver I thin it is not a stand out. I like the blue as it shows more class and the lines of the 8 stand out. My "winning" blue 8 has received a lot of coplements on the nice color. Yellow is my second choice.

I bought the red w/ two tone interior. I've always either had a red car or black. I've never been to concerned about whether black shows dirt. I just find that black doesn't due the RX8 justice. I think it obcures its lines.

Hey all...my .02 cents. JeffJett is on the money. Black needs a little more cleaning, but I think we are all similar in the respect that we clean our 8's often. My 8 always looks clean, the lines jump out big time.

Glad you decided on a colour. Enjoy.

I got Yellow, and couldn't be more pleased. It is a true attention getter. My vote...go for the Yellow.

I am another person who went yellow. No regrets but I sure hope the color doesn't fade.

I have the appearance package and the yellow paint match is pretty good. The titanium gray and silver didn't seem to have very good paint matches for the appearance package items.

Yellow is still my favorite and I do like the titanium gray alot (without DRL's tit gray is not a good color though)

I do want to mention white for a second. IF it is like the white Japan got last year no one is going to be disappointed - Pearlescent Snowflake Mica White I think the name was called and requires a few more coats to apply. It looks a lot like the Lexus SC430 white - very classy but not that racey.

I hope that is the white we get 2005 but since the one we are getting has a different name Whitewater Pearl I doubt it. Just like the yellow that PSM white might be a limited edition too.

Whitewater Pearl might look very nice though.

Hey, it's Mr. Wiggles!

You were a huge help to me last year on avsforum when I was researching the Sammy DLP. I ended up getting a pre-power buy 43".

Sorry for the OT folks. Bringing it back to the RX-8, it seems that Mr. Wiggles and I have the same good taste in color that we have in TV's.

Cheers

Brilliant Black, GT, Red and Black leather, Bose, no spoiler, no aappearance package. When clean, this car looks great. The spoiler and extra body kit looks stupid. No spoiler and no body kit is a truly unique look.

I can certainly respect someone thinking the RX8 looks better without the spoiler or appearance package, but to say that it looks stupid is, well, lets just say I disagree!

I just think the spoiler and appearance package makes the car look too much like like all these other silly cars where a 17 year old puts a big wing and rims on. I see all these cars where kids must have dropped like 5 thousand $$ into and they are still driving an eclipse. I just don't get it. The contour and body line of the RX8 is completely ruined once you put a spoiler and appearance package on it.

I don't think the appearance package comes close to looking like the type of aftermarket spoilers and body kits that you are referring to, like "big wing" and "5 thousand $$ into". The appearance package and the stock spoiler are much more conservative than that.

And, again, I have to completely disagree with this comment:

"I just don't get it. The contour and body line of the RX8 is completely ruined once you put a spoiler and appearance package on it."

I think the 8 looks fine without the appearance package, but to say that the contour and body line are completely ruined by adding it...........I don't know what to say other than I don't see it that way.

I've always enjoyed the plain jane look; I do like the Appearance Package though.
