Mazda Rx8
Hello everyone I am new to this site. I always wanted a Mazda Rx-8 as a college student but money was always very tight. I may be able to afford one soon. I am thinking of getting it used 2004-2005 model. Any information or major differences between the two? I hear this car eats alot of gas but I am not too worried about that because I am not a big traveler. Also I heard a while back it is best to buy a car 2 yrs from the newest model for insurance purposes? ??? I don't know much about cars. Thanks for all the help.

If you are a College student, then you should know how to use a search button right?
Poke around on this site, use "advanced search" there is a wealth of info and about 1 bazillion threads just like yours!
You might start by reading the stickies.
Sorry to be so blunt.........but in my opinion, this is the wrong car to own if you are a College student for various reasons.
You will get other opinions of course, just mark my words.

Wait a few years, save your pennies and buy a series II (2009 or newer). Read about the series II changes in this forum to see why I say that. Many small, but very important, modifications/upgrades over the original car (2004-2008). Check out the thread at the link below.

Go with an 05 or newer. Now, I have an 04 and I DID have to get the motor replaced...but other than that and general maintenance, i've had 0 issues with the car. Moreover, the biggest pain in the *** so far has been the dealership, not the car.

Is it not given that an *** includes the hole snuggled deep in it? Just asking. Anyways, I think an RX8 is the best car for a student. It is a pantydropper and that is all a student needs. Once you start working you blink once and there is a ring on your finger, you blink again, oooopsy, children running around in the back seat. blink again, you are driving a seven seater, like you old man used to. from there on, you refrain from blinking again.

Why do I get a sneaking suspicion this is a bot? But, if you are actually a real person, then I would stay away from the RX-8 because half of the standard day to day treatment for this car will sound like Chinese to you. Do not get a car designed for car enthusiasts if you don't know anything about cars. You will not appreciate the good points and you will get in trouble with the bad points.
