wow this thread is going no where fast

There is no mazdaspeed rx-8 anywhere (correct me if i am wrong) there are rx-8s with aftermarket mazdspeed parts. There are also special edition rx-8 (shinka) that came in a pruple and in more recent years any color with the only difference being interior and exterior finishes. europe, japan, australia,a nd american models are all basically similar except for some little accessory tweaks. There is one tuned model rx-8 (PZ edition only sold in the UK).

Thye have sold and produced mazdaspeed: mx-5 (aka miata), 3, 6, and protege.

What else am i missing?

That's what I expected. Because when he uncovered the car... I was looking for RHD but it wasn't.

If you paid extra for this specail model you probably got ripped off.

How much did you spend?

USA has no real mazdaspeed RX-8's. You can buy the body kit and other parts and install them yourself, but it's not a real MS RX-8 (Your car invoice will not make any mention of it).

If you want a real MS RX-8, you have to go to Japan:

http://www.mazda.com/publicity/relea...408/0820e.html

On the other hand, it's basically a body kit and a neat color... So I'd s/mazdaspeed/mazda/g

I actually understand the ms mx5. It's either MS or nothing at all. There is no 17" wheel option outside of the MS model.

I'm trying to understand the RX8 model.

I figured RX8 board members would know.

Just based on my first thread on this forum everyone seems to act like they are GURU's or something.

How friendly.....

My uncle paid 36k. 6k miles on odometer. a little over a year old.

I'll have to ask him about the actual "sticker".

most here are pretty friendly. the problem is we get a ton of people asking the same things over and over.

The information many seek has been posted on the forum before, so browsing and searching is the best thing one can do before submitting a new thread.

I actually did that prior to joining.

Search string "mazdaspeed 04" and didn't find much. However I did find a thread on the EBAY MS with a bin 50k

It's a forum however I expected this "OMG HE DON'T KNOW ****" type of treatment. who cares.

Mazda Presents Limited-Production 'Mazda RX-8 Mazdaspeed Version'

Mazda Motor Corporation announces the release of a limited edition RX-8 Mazdaspeed Version, which is based on the RX-8 and fitted with Mazdaspeed* brand tune-up parts for enhanced sports driving performance. The RX-8 Mazdaspeed Version goes on sale from the middle of February at Mazda Anfini and Mazda dealerships throughout Japan.

The new RX-8 Mazdaspeed Version is based on the RX-8 Type S. Mazda has tuned up the engine using it's exclusively designed PCM (Powertrain Control Module) to match the modified intake and exhaust systems of the Mazdaspeed Version, as well as going through balance adjustments around the eccentric shaft in response to the lightweight flywheel. Mazda has also tuned up the suspension and fitted aero parts to further enhance sports driving performance. Those modifications, carried out under Mazda's strict quality control system, provide the RX-8 Mazdaspeed Version with well-balanced performance.

In addition, the RENESIS rotary engine has been further improved to deliver greater aerodynamic performance and even better sports car driving performance. Sharp, stable maneuverability is further enhanced while maintaining ride comfort, and the vehicle's exterior design supervised by the RX-8 chief designer expresses high performance.

The sales volume of the RX-8 Mazdaspeed Version will be limited to 300 units.
