Or any of the major mazda part retailers:

So while you may have 'tried' I think you could have tried just a wee bit harder. BTW - Love the shift ****. Works fantastic with the AFE SS.

Get this one:
http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/spee...ModelYear=2006
It's listed under the MX-5 on Mazda's site, but it's for 8 too (comes with shift pattern stickers for the MX-5, RX-8 and 3 actually).
Here's mine:

^+1 I have this same one - got it right when it came out a few years ago, and like it a lot - like was stated, real CF and doesn't get super hot or cold like the voodoo ***** are prone to. The urethane one can be hard to clean (so I've heard), but it is supposed to have a good feel.

I currently have $120.00 worth of Mazda shift *****, not counting the stock **** that retails for, I believe, $125.00 I have an Axial short shifter that is fine with the stock ****. However it is very loud with a MOMO F16 **** I tried and somewhat quieter with a Monster **** I'm using now. lemme think on this, and thanks for the help and ideas.

Two silver cars?? I like silver. It doesn,t show the dirt and looks good when cleaned up.
I may cut my losses and go back to the stock ****. I priced th /cf **** on the link and it was $150.00 plus %15.00 tax. The urethane **** came to $115.00 with shipping.

Ive driven by cops 30+ mph over sitting in medians on highways in grey/silver camrys for business at a previous employer and never ever had one pull out on me so I thought Id apply this exp to my personal life as well And it doesnt show road salt and water stains much at all in winter comp to dark colors while bringing out every surface detail even at distance.

That huge Mazdaspeed shift **** with the CF weave is a bad fit for the RX-8 shift action in my opinion. I've driven it before in the Mazdaspeed Protege and it's too bulky IMO. You're better off with a Miata style shift ****, either the urethane version or just a bone stock Miata shift ****.
