Meetin' the 8 in person.

Boy, do I love the 8 in person! Gosh, pictures alone don't just cut it! I dropped by the Mazda Dealership this afternoon and just feasted my eyes on the car and my goodness, the car was just BEEautiful!! I mean, what more must I add to this thread. 5 were on display but what caught me was the ever so dark Black one. I love Black on cars, especially if it's on an RX-8. Oh, did I mention how cool it looks with the spoiler. I just find it nice to have a spoiler on the 8. I've been driving cars now that don't have spoilers, I know its function for the car aerodynamically, but looks-wise, it's fabulous. I plan to get mines in Black, with Black/Red interior, the GT package.

I have a question: Does the GT Package on the RX-8 come with Side Aero Flares and Rear Aero Flares? Or would I have to pre-order an RX-8 with those features?

I am also curious about the Polished Aluminum Fender Strakes. Would these go good on the RX-8? I don't see that many 8s with 'em on. It looks cool I think. But to actually enjoy the 8 I've got to see it in person first!

AFAIK The GT doesn't come with body accessories (at least in Canada). You can order them when you order the car.

I got the front air-dam, side and rear flares and side strakes. I think the strakes add a finishing touch to the front. The air-dam on the front is the bomb IMO. I didn't get the rear spoiler, but I got the rear windows tinted. Looks great.

The dealer added my accessories to the stock 8 they had on the lot (in fact this may be how all accessories are added?).

Anyway, when the dealer puts them on before your purchase this should still be considered "accessories added on delivery". In Canada at least, that means your accessories are warranteed for 3 years.

SWEET, I'd never know that, but you say that's in Canada, how about in the states? Anyone here have the same experience?

I just got word that it's possible to add accessories once your car comes in. As long as the parts dept. has them and you are willing to purchase it and have them installed.

I agree I saw pictures of the rx-8 and didn't think too much of it, but after seeing it in person parked next to me I knew it was what I wanted to get.
