Talking Mesmerized by "floating water" effect.

Does anyone else enjoy the cool "liquid metal" effect on the hood during rain? When you're driving between 40 and 60 in the rain, the water collects in the corners of the rotor shaped grooves in the hood gently rolls back and forth as you drive, held there as if by magic.

I'm probably insane, but I love looking at it.

I like to watch the water dance there, but that's at a lower speed.

Not that I am flaming or giving you a hard time but this has been discussed at least 2 other times before. On Sunlight Silver it looks like mercury, on the Velocity Red it looks like blood. It is definately something that catches the eye, for sure. :D

I violently shake the car to the right and left at high speeds to get rid of it.

Yep, me too! Simply fascinating that it can hang on at speeds over 55mph .

Cool Try it at minus 20.....

During the winter, I would wash the salt off at a car wash, then rush home before my locks froze (!).

The 'dancing waters' would last about two minutes - then freeze solid! Still just as they were, rippling over themselves, frozen in place!

Hey, it's all I got, humor me.....

BTW, it's not that exicting that those drops hang on at speed, that's just indicative that the rotor crease recesses are in an area of low air pressure on the hood.

Even with 'ur technical explanation I still find it fascinating - some of us are just so easily to amused . Maybe I missed 'ur point?

Whoops. I didn't do a search because I figured no one would start a post as silly as this for fear of being flamed, but looks like I was wrong...

It is amusing that we both chose the word "mesmerized" in the title. Guess that means it's true.
