Mileage on cars test by magazines

Mileage on cars test by magazines
Right now, the dyno numbers and the early performance numbers don't seems to match those claimed by Mazda and results published by all the magazines. The current, leading theory is that the car will improve and gains more hp as the miles increase. It wills leans out and not be running as rich. So my question is at what mileage does this switch occurred?
It's obvious that the cars tested by magazines are fully broken-in. Otherwise, they wouldn't have gotten their performance numbers. Intrigued by this, I reread several magazines to see how miles were on their cars at the time of their test.
1. Car and Driver - Apr. 2003 p. 63
- inset pic of instrument panel: 2375 miles
2. Road & Track - Apr. 2003 p. 88
- inset pic of instrument panel: 1694 miles
3. Car and Driver TV - Feb. 2003
- close-up: 1573 miles
Ok, these are not definitive proofs. But they certainly make the theory of more miles = more hp look pretty good. At least they are to me anyway.

Just in case you missed it, we have a new dyno report with 2215 miles on the odometer. Not looking good.
