misfire at 5k miles experience

Just wanted to share my first CEL experience. I was getting a blinking CEL when I would rev out my engine. It would come on around 8500 rpms only. Also the car was having rougher than usual starts. It should be noted the car has 5000 miles on it! I know what come with owning a rotary but this took be my total shock.

I was thinking oh great bad coils or something like that. I tried to get an appointment at a local dealer but they were full so I had to wait another day.

I decided to research some more on the forum and one suggestion was gas. I filled the tank no luck. The other suggestion I later found was check your spark plug wires. Sure enough my rear lower spark plug wire was COMPLETELY off!!!!

I put it back on (I highly recommend taking the driver side wheel off to do this). All is good now! No more misfires! So my faith in Mazda engineers has been restored, but not sure about the assembly line workers
