Cheesy Screens
Great thread!
It deserves to keep going with input from newbies like me.
RX Strakes screens...cheesy looking. Look like cheese graters. Will be replaced with Racing Beat screens when minor diving injury heals. RX Strakes blue LED puddle & overhead lights. One of us made a mistake here, BLUE???, but the jury is still out on these. They kind of match the LED map lights which are great! Yeah, I'm the idiot who lost the bulbs down the defroster duct! Damn that wall Love the Borla, but God was it pricey in the end! the installer drives a Ferrari and a Chevy pickup with Brembos, now I see how he drives a ferrari and mods a Chevy pickup with Brembos.

I regreat shaving my badges and paying for the re-paint. Also buying the front mud guards to go with my aero flares.
I should of spent that money on a Mazdaspeed kit.

I totally regret getting the iPod adapater module. As Ghadrack so aptly put it, the thing is a ball of suck. It locks out the iPod controls and display, and the stereo display is completely un-intuitive -- it's way too hard to use, especially compared to the simplicity of plugging an iPod into an auxiliary input (which is what I did in my old car).
I ordered it when I bought the car (the salesman mentioned it when I asked if there was an aux option), and I knew I was in trouble the day it was installed and no one in the dealership knew how to work the damn thing. The manual they gave me reads like '70s stereo instructions, and I haven't bothered trying to use it in the month since it was installed. Too much hassle to have to set it up, memorize what order your playlists are in, put it in the glove box, etc. -- all before driving anywhere. If I'm already on the road and get inspired to listen to a particular playlist I'm SOL, unless I feel like pulling over for 20 minutes and setting the thing up.
I went back to the dealership a couple weeks ago to see if there was any chance of a refund (like a satisfaction guarantee or anything), and the guy was like, "No, and we'd have to charge you to take it out." So it stays put, at least for now, and I'm planning to get an AuxMod. If/when that finally gets installed and is working, I'll probably just eat the cost of getting the iPod module uninstalled (and getting that damn cord out of my glove box).

Just go to wal-mart or target and just buy a cigarette lighter adapter. I don't blast my music so its perfect for me. You just keep surfing the radio stations, and the surfer on the adapter until you find a clean channel. Mine is 96.5 and it comes through crystal clear

I wouldnt have gotten my AP Crank pulley or my catback, also could have done without the fender strakes and PS fuel door.
Turbo will be on soon tho, so its all water under the bridge at this point.

Great tip, thanks! When I go to get the AuxMod installed I'll see if the place will unplug that cable while they have the headunit out.

I regret getting rid of my first 8 as it would have been paid off by now and I would be more able to mod the living S$*t out of it.
But now I have to wait to get more $ to mod the 8 I have now.

RE-010-R tires:
Downsides: ridiculous cost on street tires
Upside: ridiculous grip
Mazdaspeed Magnesium wheels:
Downsides: could have gotten wheels nearly as light for much cheaper
Upsides: superlight and bling factor
Soon to install a lighter flywheel... probably this weekend....

I can definately post here, not about a mazda, but my wrx. I regret going front mount intercooler because I got a lot of turbo lag and can't go back to tmic again because I trimmed the front bumper down to fit, so it would look real dumb. Now I have to buy a front bumper from the stealership and then get it painted. Pic for reference (atleast it looks good)
