Just to chime in on this very quickly ...........

I have a friend who's first comment when he heard I was getting an RX8, is no real torque ....... get a mustang.

I had to laugh .... I said dude!!! I'm not going to be racing the local streets, and I'm not looking to race on the interstate so why would I need a car with that much torque?

It like buying a formula one car for city driving. Who cares if you have more torque under the hood, the only one that will really notice are the cops. Unless you're into street racing ............ then you need a WRX or modified Civic. And believe me you'll need to invest a lot more cash in it to get it race ready. Other than that WHY ???????? does anyone who doesn't race street\track need alot or torque for city, surburban driving ............................ I had an unmodified 97' 626 V6 2.5 liter engine that has less torque that an RX8, and I've smoked many in a 1/4 mile with that very same car.

So unless you're into street\track ......... its not worth it to have a all that power and no where to really utilize it. If youre into street\track get the geddy turbo, and you're set. You don't need to give up handling to gain a few cycles.

But ............. to each his own ................. welcome to the USA.

Just a thought!!!

and the whole reason i made this thread was to talk about the price difference in the different turbo kits

greddy being around 4-5k after ecu and getting 100hp
ptp 8k claimed 180hp
mazsport 10k 400hp total

i just wanted to get peoples opinion on what's the best bang for my buck, if spending the extra money is really worth it on a higher end kit

and i think the reason people upgrade their cars, even if they don't race and live in the city, is for two reasons. it imporves the cars daily driven application. you get to 60mph on the highway faster. also you get bragging rights lol

i'm just debating if spending the extra.....3k ish ....is worth the possibility of more power, anyone understand my question? lol

you should probably call mazsport and find out what the have to say about the possibilities of running 400whp on a daily driven car with their kit.

If your basis for more power is to reach 60 mph on the highway faster, you really don't need FI. You just need to learn how to downshift.

I just picked up a new Kawasaki ZX-14 and I can smoke the **** out of any car and (almost) any bike that pulls up next to me. So far I've yet to see anything on the road that would come close.

Bikes = death factor.

I had a bike from age 13 till 35.
My second daughter was born, I looked at her, and sold it the next day. ( cbr 1000 )
If you have kids, you don't have the right to own a bike.

the 60mph remark was a reason someone could get a turbo, without bringing street racing into the forums, which i know the mods hate here
