From: Indiana - smack dab in the middle...south side..
wow - this is a great (and fun) question!
Most expensive - Acura NSX (production #203 - was shelfish enough to keep my production book even when I sold it...so sorry to the next owner...)
reason sold: 1000.00 a pop for tires (not wheels - tires!) plus needed to get new sound system, started getting a tear in the drivers side leather, and some jerk rear ended me at a stop light.... this after just getting it back 6 months previously from some lady who was in an SUV ahead of me at the drive thru at the bank, decided to switch the lane she was in - didnt see me and literally (and I mean litterally) threw it in reverse and DROVE right on top of my front end (me laying on the horn) ... so I'd pretty much just kinda had it at that point and traded it in - rear bumper damange and all -- bot an suv, silverado and paid off tons of bills with the left over cash...
Reason for the 8? SUV after a few years turned out to be a p.o.s. - sunk more into that - that - THING...than if I'd kept the NSX.... and I just flat out missed being low to the ground and fast! Gotta say - the 8 is just as fun, sometimes I think it's more zippy than the NSX - and is deff more cost effective - I absolutely LOVE it!!!!
Age - dont you know better than to ask a woman that question

I had a BMW 325i coupe before this. The transmission broke and I decided to sell rather than fix it. It had 187,000 miles on it. I still have another '88 325i convertable in the driveway that I'm working on (valve job). I had a '94 Miata as my first sports car. I wore that out too. I love BMW's and Mazdas, I guess I just have to alternate. They both have soul but are very differant from each other.
I also own a 1950 Chevy pickup and a 2004 Honda CR-V.
The RX8 is my first rotary and I love it.

The RX is the most expensive to date, I have a hard time paying a 200 to 300% premium for a 10% performance increase.
Other cars I have owned, some of the dates may be a little off.
1966 VW Bug
1968 Fiat 850 spyder (850cc engine)
1974 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe (I loved this car)
1974 VW Bug
1976 VW Rabbit
1972 Fiat 124 Spider
1979 Alfa Romeo Sprint Veloce
1988 Pontiac Fiero GT (Loved that plastic body)
1994 Nissan Altima (the wifes)
1994 Ford Probe GT
2001 Subaru Outback
2005 RX-8
In our family I also was able to drive the following:
Fiat 131
Fiat 128
TR-7
MGB
Nissan 300ZX
Bugatti replicate
67 GTO
Toyota MR2 1st Generation
7? Camaro
Mazda Miata

The RX-8 is the cheapest car I've owned in the last 16 years. The second cheapest was a '93 RX-7, bought new in '93 for a few grand more than I paid for the 8.
Since '88, it's been almost all BMWs and Mercedes, the most expensive is a $78k Benz, which we still have. Funny thing is, I missed the rotary engine and light weight handling feel of the RX-7 so much I decided to get the RX-8 over an E46 M3. It's been well over 2 years, absolutely no regrets and I still love it!
The RX-8 taught me that one can love a $30k car just as much as a $50k car or even an $80k car. So why pay more? Enjoy the 8 folks, it's a great car.
