moving to Jordan, Utah.. should I sell my Rx8?

Hi everybody..

I am moving to Jordan, Utah in about 4 months.. should I sell my Rx8? As far as I know the car does not perform well in the cold weather.. And there are no threads from UTAH.. so i am assuming there are not much Rx8 support in that part of the country.. What kind of car should I get then?? I will be a pharmacy school student in the fall.. thanks!!

oh yea..
the price will be $17000 firm for a 2004 Rx8 GT AT CLEAN Ti. Grey. 38,000 miles San Diego

unless it snows a lot and its real cold there, its not a good reason to sell the 8. but if its snowing all the time and its real cold, you might want to trade it and get a AWD car, flooding can also be an issue in cold wheather

i don't think so. buy some dedicated snow tires and rims and you'll be all set. i've done 4 seasons now on the same blizzaks in new england and the snow is only an issue if i don't have clearance (more than 4" unplowed). regarding the cold, my 04 has never flooded and i don't have any of the updates (starter, etc).

the higher altitude may sap more power off the 230hp renesis engine. best get a turbo car.

I think you should sell whatever you have to in order to not have to live in Utah

It gets cold and snows there playdoh. Park City and Deer Valley are one of the best places in the world to ski/snowboard. It's usually a competition between Whistler, Vale, Park City, and Aspen (but more recently, Aspen's been degrading, I've heard).

Selling your car because you're moving to Utah is absurd. Sell the car if you don't like the car. Keep the car if you like the car. Get snow tires if you're going to face snow. End of story.

I was in Utah once, and it's a *beautiful* state, there should be some great driving there!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is more than one pharmacy school in the US.

To think that there's no Mazda support in Utah from the number of posts in the Utah section of the forum is a pretty big assumption. Have you taken a look in perhaps the sections for the northern states (Washington, Idaho, Michigan, etc) or *GASP* Canada, for advice on cold weather? The 8 performs just fine in the cold ... if anything better than most FWD cars. If you have the traction control, that's even more of a bonus in the snow.

If you are selling for financial reasons that's fine but don't sell the 8 because you are moving to a colder climate. Heck, this winter I've seen a guy drive his Porsche Boxter around as his daily driver.

There is, but they're all controlled by the International Zionist Pharmaceutical Conspiracy.

Keep the car (maybe garage it at your parents house for the time @ pharmacy school) & buy a cheap beater or old SUV to use while taking classes. Then once you graduate, move somewhere other than Utah and drive your 8.

Don't sell it bro. Once those twisty mountain roads thaw, you will be glad you kept it.

Don't sell your 8. I live in Northern Utah and we have some incredible mountain roads. Southern Utah is really warm, so if you're going to SUU or Dixie you'll be fine regardless. If you're going to Pharmacy School I'm betting you're going to U of U, if so SLC is good about keeping the roads clear and if you have winter tires you'll have no problem at all as long as you have the clearance.

P.S. Ike, I'm going to live in Milwaukee for the summer. I've heard good things about Mazo Beach.

Jordan is in the valley so you won't have to deal with mountains unless you choose to do so.

Compared to California, maybe less availability of "adult beverages" and fewer "girls gone wild" due to influence of LDS Church. Although I understand that is changing. Anyway you're supposed to be studying, not partying...
