Sure will....
Mine, the black one, has more trany noise than the wife's. Mine has 1500 miles, wife's has 450.
I did take it back in because I was concerned that it was rough getting into 1st and 2nd. They check the hydro fluid. I am a little concerned that trany may be low on oil or something but who knows...
Car is so new, I have not had time to find out how to check trany myself.
Any advise from the gang is appreciated.
by the by, a lot of the dealers in the Tampa area were trying to get a $3000.00 ADM. I found one that was doing straight MSRP, but no deals. How does this compare to other places in US?

Dealer in Chicago area surburbs hinted at $1000 below list to me. It is getting to be that time of year in Chicago, where 'sports cars' are becoming out-of-vogue for the season. There are certainly quite a few on the lot and they admitted that RX8's are not moving as fast as they'd like.
Speaking of dealers, I must say that I was less than impressed with how I was treated by the Sales Manager of the Mazda dealership. I pulled in one very slow night in my old Audi and the sales manager told me that if I'd wanted to test drive, I should come back in 45 minutes as their 'tester' was out. Turns out that was not true, as a salesman catches me eyeing a black RX8 on my way out - ends up offering me a test drive 5 minutes later. No 'test drive' car returned to the lot, as the car I test drove was cold (per temp gauge). The salesman was a great guy and took time to show me the car and even offered to drive the car to my house to show it to my wife. 3 days later my wife and I drove up to the dealership in our E-class Mercedes and the Sales Manager greets us with open arms and says "anything you want...", with no recollection of my having been there a few nights ago!
BTW: this has been a learning experience; ie. dealing with online discussion forums - did not mean to 'flame' all you RX8 fans with a first post! Just accidentally 'aired' some of my decision making process online. Thanks for the feedback about the 'perceived problems' with the RX8.

I'm reading a range of prices on the Rx-8, from $1000 over invoice to $3000 over MSRP. I'm getting my pre-ordered car at MSRP and so I'm wondering if I should try to negotiate the price even though I've pre-ordered it already with the price in writing with the manager's signature? How many of you are honestly getting below MSRP and by how much? How much would you guys suggest negotiating for?

Well, if everything goes as planned, I'll put down the deposit for my car on Wednesday. The offer on the table is 700 over invoice, which seems to be pretty good. This offer was accepted by more than one dealer, btw.
I'm crossing my fingers that nothing will mess up the deal :D

This guy 'Ike' IS very annoying I noticed. I don't have much to do with RX-8 nor WRX. I am just a fan of cars and everytime I run into his post... just get irritated.
Maybe he needs to change his ID to something like "yikes!"

Now on-topic: Do you think this guys would dare to raise MSRP on the car?? If they do, I think we can say bye-bye to the new 7 and any near future rotary development. I bought the car simply because it offered a fair share of performance and ammenities at a fraction of what other 'big boys' have in the market. After all, isn't that what Mazda is: Cheap thrills?? fast-fun-cars??
Wasn't one of the 7s causes of death an ever increasing price?
I don't know if the 8 is under or over priced. I really don't care. It fit the bill for my wife and me.
SIDE NOTE: Leave Ike alone for Gs & Cs sake. Klegg, as you said (I think,) the guy's intelligent. I give you, he doesn't care too much for politeness sometimes; but most the times he's joking. Take jokes as what they are. Was he dissapointed when he got back from the test drive? yes, apparently he was. So what?? doesn't he have the right to? He bothers you? Maybe you haven't noticed, but his posts have changed quite radically, don't you think? HE WOULDN'T BUY AN 8; BUT HE IS NOT CALLING US 'NUMB-NUTTS' FOR DOING SO. AND THERE ARE SO MANY MORE DESTRUCTIVE PEOPLE HERE.
[back to normal speech] You have your opinions, I have mines and Ike's got his. Nobody is here to brainwash anyone. I won't change my mind about something I own because somone else doesn't like it. Hell! Enzo Ferrari could be bashing the 8 from his grave: I WOULDN'T CARE!
Live in peace! please!...at least try.
[shutz, I gotta get my flame suit zipper up....shietz!]
