Much improved shifting

Don't get me wrong, I love the short throw shifter and stock shift ****, but to me, it was TOO short.

I really couldn't find a comfortable position for my right hand.

So, I actually increased the lenght of the shifter by about 1 1/4". It makes a ton of difference!! The shifts were smoother and more percise. I replaced the stock **** with a B&M that an adapter kit that I modified.

If your happy with the way the car shifts now, don't change it. But if you're constantly thinking about your shifts, try this out!!

For those who have driven both, how does the RX-8 shifter compare with the MX-5/Miata? For me the latter is just perfect.

The RX-8 is not quite as rifle-bolt short and sharp as the Miata, but it's a very close runner-up. If you like the Miata, you'll like this one.
