My 2006, too!!!

Mine was just re-delivered at the dealership today all fixed!!! It will be ready for me to pick up Saturday evening or Sunday!!! They just have to complete the prep on it, put on the rotary accents (apparently wasn't done at port either) and fender strakes, and it's all done!!! Yay!!!

They just called me this morning and said it's back and everything matches on the car to my order with the exception of the rotary accent package now, which they will put on.

They "forgot" to install the control panel for the navigation, i.e. the buttons and stuff on the console by the shifter and brake.

Saturday evening when I get off work or maybe a little earlier if I can shift a few hours to Sunday, like make up a family excuse. I can always use the excuse that I have to pick up/baby sit my niece since her mom is due to have a baby somewhere around now. (Actually, I think she did last week)

Otherwise, I will get it on Sunday, but that would more likely than not mean I won't have my fender strakes on until another day, like next Thursday when the parts/service department is open, unless the salesguy will do it for me.

It's nice. They guy I originally set up my order through told the dealership that he would "personally" handle the delivery of my car to me, particularly since I had been having problems with getting info out of the new people. He is supposed to call me probably this afternoon to arrange when I want to come in and complete the paperwork to take delivery. It shouldn't be too hard for him. He got transferred to their Nissan dealership two blocks away. That guy has to be the best sales person ever!!! He has been so nice and helpful and even gave me his personal cell phone number if I had any problems. He talked to my insurance agent to provide them all the info so I could get my insurance set up and be covered when my car came in!!!

Why don't you install the strakes yourself? It's easy.

I probably could. I just figured it would be quicker and easier for somebody that already knew what they were doing. I've read that they just screw in, so if all else fails I may do it myself so I can have them right away.

They do just screw in. There's adhesive backing as well, and you have to undo some of the wheelwell, but the whole thing can be done in less than 30 min.

Congrats! You'll be able to cruise around Sat night or Sun afternoon. Yeah, I would have them put the fenders in. If you do it, I would ask for a future service discount.

I don't feel too comfortable with doing it myself, so if I really have to wait for it, I will. Their service department/parts and accessories department is open until 6 p.m. on Saturdays so when they called this morning I told them I "needed" this on when I picked it up (different guy than is handling stuff for me) so he said he would take down the info and pass it along to the guy that was handling stuff so he could get it done. It's finally almost here and the landlord hasn't rejected me parking in the neighbors driveway since I have the neighbor's permission and it won't exceed two vehicles. It's been three weeks now since I delivered the signed letter (by me and the neighbor with the attached copy of the parking rules from the lease and highlighted applicable clauses that apply to my parking arrangement as to why there is no expressly written rule forbidding me from doing so) and not a phone call or letter of rejection about it. The last time I asked to rent a driveway at an empty lot near me, on the third day from me mailing it I had a letter back forbidding me from doing so. I've seen the landlord twice since then and not one word about me not being able to do it. The neighbor I will be parking at has talked to and dealt with him numerous times about a new motorhome to be parked in the RV parking and not one word to him either about me not being able to park there either. It must be fine.

I talked to my friend's dad (a lawyer) and he said if he didn't reject me before estimated arrival date of my car as stated in the letter (which would have been the end of last week), assuming I gave two weeks notice to the landlord (two full business weeks of 10 days), which I did, then it is too late for him to complain and reject me after I get my car because he had sufficient notice of my intentions and gave implied consent by not acting in a timely fashion to prevent me from doing what I stated I was going to do before I actually did it.

I know. And they screwed up my order after all, too. They "lost" your spoiler and for some reason they "lost" my rotary accent package that was there when you showed me my VIN search looking for my fender strakes a few days ago. Don't know what happened, and neither do they.

They dealer said they would look into it and take care of it.

I called Mazda and they said it's not listed there either. For some reason they didn't feel like giving me that option so I have to get it straightened out now too.

Congrats on getting the car after waiting so long!
All the dealership crap will be forgotten once you get to drive it.
