i own 05 rx8 has 47000 miles. when im trying to start up it take long to start up like 6sec. this never happend before so little worry can somebody know wat is wrong

 

Is it cold where you live? Have you had all the service work done? You should have had your plugs replaced by now. Any changes in the running condition of the car? Loss of power or responsiveness and so on.

 

need a new battery?

 

lol I still have my original batt from 04 and I got 100k on the car. :p Ya I know I need to replace it. Yes I am lazy, some how it is the only item with the cars that I tend to forget about. the battery in my 7 is about the same age I think lol.

 

I am having the same problems. i bought wire and plugs. was going to change them out on black friday, but wife made me go shopping with her and sister. most likely you need to change sparks etc.

also is your car hesitating when you take off in 1st gear? sorta makes the car jolt back and forth before actually taking off? do you notice any misfires?

 

I think there were issues with the starter as well... I've been having the same issue, which I should probably get fixed lol.

 

make sure u have the upgraded starter/battery and have fresh plugs and depending on the mileage coils also

 

When I had my 05. The dealer replaced the starter for free (under warrinty). Never had a problem after that.
