I ask this as part of a larger problem of mine that is my own doing.

Long story short, I need to or rather really want to sell my car and get out of my auto loan. Unfortunately for me, its not selling for close enough to what I owe and I can't take a loss as I don't have the money. Been thinking of parting it. Its an '04 in good condition, not perfect at all, shows wear, interior is pristine though.

So, the question is, is this car worth more if I parted it over several months or is it better to sell the whole thing.

 

which mods do you have? you can sell the mods since they won't help much to increase the sale price of your car and then you can sell it stock.

 

Since the car is collateral for the bank loan I don't think they would like that. You would be in trouble if you didn't make enough to pay off the loan and only had 1/3 of a car to repo. How much do you owe?

 

Not sure about what kind of trouble you would be in for parting it but I highly recommend not doing that. How far upside down are you on the car? Best thing is to sell it for what you can get and take the loss as a hard earned lesson.

 

Or just don't sell it and keep making payments until you're not upside down any more. Why do you want to/need to sell it? Maybe get a second job?
