It was an either/or proposition. He had noticed there was no spare and I was telling him about the repair kit and asked if that would ruin the tire and/or if I should consider runflats as an alternative. He told me that the runflats are great for getting you to a shop or home or whatever but once they are driven flat, the sidewalls of the tires are compromised and, therefore ruined and must be replaced, not repaired. So, you are screwed into replacing a tire in either scenario, according to him, was what I was trying to say.

I think Nankangs are kinda an exception. I'm on my second set of Nankang NS-IIs and I really like them for the price. $70 per tire brand new and my last set lasted over 30k miles of me driving lol.

Wow, that's impressive. What's your driving style?

Unless you're paranoid about being stranded in the middle of nowhere, I'd skip run flats. As a whole, they seem to not measure up to the best of regular tires and they cost more.

Not good on tires.
Maybe it runs in the family though, my dad can go 3 years+ on a set of tires for his truck (he has two sets - summers and winters).

Edit: They were to the wire at some points when I replaced them.
