My first two mods

I made my first visual mods to my car yesterday.
All I did was the clear corners and the lower rear bumper inserts.

First I want to say that I ordered my parts from RX8 Strakes.com on Saturday and got them yesterday [Wednesday]. I was thinking I would be lucky to have them within a week but the good people RX8 Strakes were “Johnny on the spot”.

I don't know what it is about the clear side markers but they just make the car look better...
Tighter.
Cleaner.
I don't know but I really like them on light color and darker color 8's.
I think yellow and “copper orange”? 8's look better with the amber corners.

The aluminum inserts on the rear bumper help to bring out some of the details in these beautiful cars.

I want to add some black lug nuts to the stock wheels but I think my next mods will be some new lighter weight wheels, window tint maybe and maybe an air dam.
We'll see.

Something new to blow money on.... I love it.

I see Accents! So was that a mod as well?

I might do the rear diffuser inserts.. But I think Accents is enough already

Nope, those were added on by the dealer.
I like 'em.

I thought about that too. The inserts or the accents but not both.
I think I'll keep both but if did do anything I'd remove the accent and keep the insert.

My name is Jim Ellis, yo.

Easy as pie. I came across a few items when I installed mine.

1) Take good care of those wheelwell clips. They snap easy if you try forcing them in incorrectly.
2) Clean the gap where the clear corners go. It can be extremely dirty.
3) Be VERY careful forcing the little pointed edge that holds the clear corner into the bumper. Check the DIY on this forum. It can be very easy to pop out, or be really hard.
4) I couldn't remove the wire connection for mine from the car. I basically kept that, swapped out the clear corner enclosure and bulbs. I was tempted to try WD-40 on the electrical connection, but thought better of it.

You'll be alright.

They say the economy is getting better...... I guess.

@ JinDesu.

I got this car used and the original owner ordered the rotary accents.
He paid for them and I'm sure the dealer worked it so that I paid for them too!!

The accents are glue-ons like strakes right? Man, seeing it on yours really tempts me to get a pair lol... Can you feel if they're secure?

The only thing I don't like about the back mesh is that it won't go with my WWP. It does wonders for your silver though.

I think 04RX8man is right.
I don't think it's glued on but I could be wrong.

Them puppies is on there pretty good however. I don't think they are going fall off anytime soon.
