Thumbs up My Guitars fit!!

I'm considering an RX-8 and I play guitar as one of my jobs. I therefore had to be able to fit two acoustics and a gig bag in the trunk. Just eyeballing it, I wasn't sure they would fit, but I stopped by the dealer tonight with guitars in hand and they slipped in perfectly with room to spare! That gets me one step closer to getting an 8 (since my wife is practically refusing to let me have a car with "such an ugly wing," namely the STi and Evo.) Although not as powerfuyl as the others, I'm leaning towards the 8 for many reasons, not the least of which is the high wife acceptance factor...

Anyway, just thought I'd post this in order to save anyone else who was wondering about this the potential embarrassment of toting their guitars into the local dealership :D

Sweet.

I was really happy when I took my car home and discovered that my bass amp just barely fits through the narrow trunk opening. My bass rests on the front seat, and I am able to travel to gigs in style

Thats cool. I bet I could fit my ernie ball axis case in the trunk of an 8 but my jackson v has probably the biggest guitar case ever made (looks like a keyboard case) and needs its own trailer .

You should see the size of my Gibson Explorer case! I hate hauling that thing around.

I just bought an Ibanez SZ520 with a hard case and had no problems at all fitting in the 8. The funny thing that happened when I was buying it was the manager wanted to talk more about my 8 than selling me a guitar.

After I bought the guitar I asked him if he wanted to hear some "real" music from my custom exhaust. He LOVED the sounds the car made and asked to to drive it around the parking lot to hear it. :D

Rock on!

hmmm...the only amp I can fit in my trunk is my 1974 Musicman...since it's one 12...haven't and i'm not going to try to fit the full stack in there, lol...although the most important part, the head, will fit...my guitars, acoustics and electrics, all fit ...which is good considering because I don't like putting those in the trailer if the gig is nearby...

I just put myself on the waiting list for the first production run of the JS1200CA...i used to own a JS1000 and it was a phenominal electric...

I'm guessing none of you have the spare tire kit?

My wife's hard case and all of her luggage fit in my 8 no problems when I dropped her off at the airport last week. Plenty of room, no doubt both of our hard cases would fit if need be... Although I dont think all of our luggage would fit at that point, but there is plenty of room in the back seat.

And no, no spare tire, just a AAA membership and some cell phones if things go really bad .

If ever need be, just know that a standard, foldable wheelchair will also fit in the trunk.

it's really a much better car, although the STi is really nice as well.

I've got the spare tire kit and I'm afraid to put anything larger than my Fender Vibro-Champ in there. Don't want to ding the car lifting my larger gear into the trunk and trying to squeeze it under that spare. I suppose I could just take the spare out of there but I really didn't buy this car to take it on gigs. I did get a chance to though this past Easter Sunday. I had a duo gig with a sax player playing jazz standards at a brunch. I was able to plug my nylon-string electric/acoustic into the sax player's PA so I only had to bring my guitar and gig bag thus enabling me to drive my 8 to the gig, a rare treat.

Hey, I've got an SZ520 also! Mine is blue though.

It's a kickass axe!

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled discussion.
