my horn is rattling...

So... the horn/airbag area of my 8 has been rattling real bad for the past few weeks...and I finally found someone to give me a ride to work, so I took my 8 in to get checked out. I got my 30k service and some other stuff too so I ended up spending like $540.

Anyways, I didnt remember that squeeks and rattles were only under warranty for a year...he said it would have cost me a lot but since I spent so much money they just "took care of it" (which they didnt).

So basically I was told that they took off the whole assembly because it was shifted to the right, and recentered it and screwed it back in. The guy told me it could be 2 reasons...either I honk WAY to much (which I do) or my bass just rattled it apart. And its still rattling...

...has anyone else had this problem? Its soooooo irritating.

Yeah, there is a TSB for it. I just got mine fixed under warranty a few weeks ago....you'll find it on this site:

Mine's been rattling bad for a while. I rarely use the horn, and I don't make the car vibrate too much.

Go back and tell them it's still rattling and it should be covered under warranty.

It used to annoy me a ton.

I took it in for the TSB, no more problem.

I pushed on the horn cover like I would be pushing someone as hard as I could and the rattle stopped. Mine was horrible but have not heard it since I got freakin mad as hell.

Yes. I have mentioned it each time I take it in, but they can't seem to find the problem or fix it despite the TSB. Other than this, service has been great.
By the way, where are you going for service in the Vegas Valley?

They didn't want to do my horn either, but every time I brought my car in, I put it on the order...I think after my car was there 4 or 5 times in a few months, and me telling them to fix the rattle, they just got sick of it and fixed it

On our first RX-8 we had ,it had a rattle in the steering wheel. The dealer checked it and ended up replacing the air bag. Something in the airbag was rattling.
Now my new one is rattling too. I have to see the dealer about this.
