My new 2006 plus pics!!!

Here's my new car. Sorry the pictures suck. Just got home and it's very dark outside. I will take better ones in the daylight when I have time. Love driving my car but I suck at taking off right now. LOL

I'll try playing with the light levels to see if I can make it look better. It looks good in my camera but for some reason it isn't really.

That is also the new transmitter key that comes with the grand touring package.

It was funny. It comes with two transmitters. My mom and I went to the fabric store nearby after I picked it up (three hour process, LOL). I was trying to lock the door and it was completely refusing to lock on me and kept beeping. I was getting a little irrigated at it. I figured out it was because the other transmitted was still in the car. I felt like such a retard.

I took out the second one, put it in my purse, and it locked up just fine!!

Beautiful car - I hate it when the cars think they're smarter than you...

I'm debating on picking up a deal on one of the left over '05s, but there's also a Copper Red Shinka near me...

Hey whaddaya know, I too picked up my Rx-8 today! and that too from Vancouver, WA. So I was in Portland for a bit before driving it back to Seattle. Nice car. Whats funny is that when I was driving it I kept thinking how much better this was than the 240 and when I came back home and drove the 240 for a bit the 240 seemed pretty good in comparison.

In case you;re confused I expected the Rx-8 to *blow* away the 240 but the 240 too can hold its ground.

Oh well the 8 has MUCH more power. I'll post some pics soon too.

awesome bunny, get more pics tomorrow please, me wanna see

copper red shinka eh? what is your take on the color? my local mazda dealer doesn't stock any RX-8's much less a shinka...

a pop the trunk button... I think that the trunk opening on the 8 is probably the worst part of the whole car, other than the stock tires that is...

No, the ignition doesn't need a key. That's no coincidence, it was designed that way....

The worst part about the key transmitter is that if they need to be replaced they cost over $600 each.

I'll get more pictures in the next day or two. I take it back in tomorrow night for a special sealant and coating over the whole outside and inside of the car and should have it back within 24 hours from then.

Oh no.

You don't really need this you know. I'd be inclined to save my hard earned money and go without it. This treatment is generally regarded as a sure fire way for the dealer to make a few extra dollars on the sale. You pay hundreds, it costs them maybe $50.

Your paint and interior is fine without it. Seek another opinion. I'm fair dinkum about this....save your money.

Wow... it looks so familiar... Oh, I know. It looks just like the 2005 model.

Oh well, enjoy the car. (Although I must say that I prefer the retractable key.)

It's called MAXXGUARD (spelling might be wrong). It seals the paint and clear coat permanently and keeps it from fading, getting water spots, bird poop damage, et cetera. They also put it over the the inside and it keeps the carpet from staining, getting wet, et cetera. It keeps the leather from staining, cracking, drying out. It is supposed to make it so you don't need to wax the car, although you could if you wanted. It's supposed to take 24 hours to do. I'm sure it will smell real nice when I get it back.

I guess they go over all the tiny little indents and cracks everywhere with Q-tips and stuff to get everything. I'm supposed to call tomorrow to set it up so they can provide me a loaner car and have it ready when I drop it off in the evening since I would get there about the time the parts department closes. I don't really need the loaner if my mom takes me and picks me up, since I don't have to drive anywhere until Thursday.

nice.... I definitely want an 06 or better now... but gonna hold out for 06 inventory reduction assuming the 07's don't change for the better... I just pray something is left without those gay winglets in front of the rear wheel wells.... they just dont' follow the lines of the RX8 at all IMO.

I know how hard you've saved for this car. Don't waste money on something of dubious value you don't need. Believe me, there will be no Q-tips involved.

Not a whole lot but I have known people that have had it put on their cars and they swear by it.
