Congrats, Bunny Girl. I have that winning blue also, and it looks awesome!. Also have the appearance pkg. Just wanted to make one suggestion......GET THE FRONT MUG GAURDS! they complete the look of the appearance pkg.

Enjoy yo' ride!

He meant mud guard.

I disagree. I think Splash guards look out of place on the 8.

I'm crazy. I couldn't sleep after I went to bed last night so I went down and sat in my car for awhile enjoying it.
nothing wrong with sitting in there and enjoying it. glad that you like it that much. i tend to ride around for no reason just cause of the fun to drive factor.

Definately check out the front splash gaurds. I had a friend who had a WB with appearance package and front splash gaurds and this was the reason I started to like the RX-8's.

And don't listen to everyone and their opinions about that stuff. Just go with what you think is good.

Bunny,

I put the Splash Guards on mine as soon as it arrived.

Looks great with the appearance package....AND....help stop some of that dirt from getting all over the side of your car.

For those debating wether or not to get the front mud gaurds, here is a little motivation perhaps. This is with about 3000 miles on the car. Every bit of that is chips. I'm gutted. I need to see what the cost is for them and a repaint of the rockers.

Wow, and I was horrified when I found a couple super tiny rock chips on the lower part of my hood today.

Gongrats on your new car BunnyGirl. I too know the pain of waiting for your 06 to arrive. You've got to post pics of the ignition switch, I pick up my car this weekend and am dying to know what the switch looks like. Also does your car have automatic climate control? Again congrats and enjoy.

The rocker panels sound like a good place for some 3M clear film. Congratulations on finally getting your new car, Bunnygirl. Nothing like the excitement of a new car, especially if it is your first. I didn't order mine, found it on the lot and liked it as is, so there was no anticipation building up as you had. Drive safe.

Congratz! What was your total out-the-door cost, not including the waxx-whatever treatment?

I paid for the treatment separately from all this and it's actually a Teflon coating.

I actually heard and/or read somewhere that all of this Teflon coating advertising is just marketing. Teflon has to actually be cooked (baked) at very high temps on to a product like your cooking pots and pans for it to actually be effective. Granted that is just what I have read and/or heard, could be wrong. Nice car none the less.

I'm not sure I totally agree with that. I have Teflon spray that's sorta like WD-40. It works really, really well. I sprayed my Rubik's cube once and it never needed it ever again. Most people spray those things with Silicon once a week or so. But it's probably only effective at staying stuck to the surface of something when it's "baked" in. Otherwise it would just wash away once the stickiness wore off.

I got that Teflon spray on my car (it was free so don't pwn me jerks). The car was black and it stayed wax quality black for at least a month. I literally saw a bird crap on it and then watched most of it roll right off -- awesome. I was very shocked. You're supposed to get it redone every 6 months or so, but it's probably only really effective for a month or two. The dumb thing is I probably could get it redone for free too. Hmmm, I should probably look into that.
