My New RX 8 Newbie here
Well I just wanted to say hey to all the owners here, this is my First RX8 and I will say this car is so bad ***!! I look foward to getting tons of info on how to add some power... I have had z28s, corvettes so I had to try it. I did nto feel like paying 58k for a vette when I stole this from the dealer....Like I said this car is awesome!! talk to all soon...

Congrats!
Sheer power is not the RX-8's department and likely never will be, but handling certainly is. You'll soon find out that outhandling other cars is far more interesting than outpowering them. There are rather few situations where raw power is of real use ... but handling always is.

I know
I will say there are a few reasons I got this car...1) one drive down to the beach here and you will see about 10 vetttes and 7 350's and so on...well going on 4 days now I have not seen one RX8, I love the way this car feels planted it is a blast to drive.
I will only do some add ons , cat back exhaust so I can hear more of that engine whine
and maybe some carbon fiber.. but I look forward to chating with all you hear..
what seems to be the average age here? I am 33.

Congrats, welcome and enjoy the ride!
About adding power, it seems a little harder with this engine because frankly Mazda did a good job of pulling out as much as possible...BUT, it's not a lost cause.
My approach will be to stay NA and reduce about 100-150 pounds off of the car. Stick lighter rims, flywheel, and pullies and find another 30HP with NA mods and I'll be a happy camper.
There are SC and Turbo's for the 8, but it's still early going. One Turbo 8 owner is running 13.9's in the 1/4 mile and I'll bet there is still room for improvment with him.
With about 30 more HP, less rotational weight (rims & flywheel), and cutting out 100 pounds (considering I have a base 6spd the lightest of the RX8's) that should gain me some significant power.
Also, there is a new ECU (Intercepter) that seems promising so maybe there is more SC/Turbo and NA power to be had. In time, we shall see...
