My Poor Baby got mistreated!!!
I thought I lived in a nice neighborhood but after having my car stolen in March (not the 8) and now this I don't know. I'm getting to meet all the police officers in the city.... someone egged my car last night. Bad enough it was ALL over the car, mostly on the drivers side, but they actually did damage that will require painting to fix. F-ers.... the dealer was great, I started to wash the car, called the police and then called the sales guy for a referral to a body shop, he had me bring the car in and their detail guy washed it for me. I still found a little more egg so I went outside with my 9mm in my waistband and didn't try very hard to conceal it when the neighbors drove by. The car looks okay except for the drivers door and a couple other little scratches. I absolutely HATE the idea of another insurance claim, leaving the car to be fixed, listening to all the comments about why I bought a flashy trouble magnet.... but I love this car, I cried over the scratches on this car but barely cared about the other one being stolen and completely stripped. I think one of the neighbors did it....the alarm (shock sensor) has been going off and I asked the dealer to turn it down yesterday, not sure if they turned it the right way. Well anyways, the neighborhood a$$hole drove by last night setting the alarm off for the 2nd time last night and then a few minutes later I heard a noise, it went off and stupid me didn't go outside so the eggs sat on the car all night long and well into the morning. Thanks to the forum I was able to locate the shock sensor and I have turned it all the way down, that's about all I can do, if it keeps going off I don't know what I'm going to do.... guess I could have it removed or shoot my neighbor (unfortunately that would then cause me to not be able to drive my baby)....

get a security camera? put your car in a garage? yeah get a car cover. dude yeah that totally sucks. I hope you eventually catch the guy and give him hell or i hope he gets what he's got coming to him. Police doing anything? any reports of vandelism to other neighbors? or just you?

Peninsula, hm? Geez where do you live? East Palo Alto?
I'd expect stuff like that in Alameda or Oakland.
Sorry to hear that story. I don't think a car cover really will help that much. I always thought that even any crappy car looks like something really valueable if under a cover. Might just cause more attention.

Not sure that a repaint is better than scratches. Definitely not sure that an insurance claim is better than scratches. Are they very bad? The problem with getting them fixed is that you'll obsess over the new paint job (I've been there -- it never looks right again) just like you're obsessing over the scratches. This is perfectly normal sports car owner behavior, but maybe getting used to a few nicks and scrapes is better than worrying about them all?
Sucks about your damage, tho. It totally sucks that your neighbor is an @$$wipe monkey.
