Mine's a 09/03 build - so 4 1/2 years since the build and 3 3/4 years since I got it. Other than the goddamned flood issue I had FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME this past weekend, it's rocked. No wrecks, very few problems other than the airbag wiring issue which gave birth to one badly dealer-induced one (they skinned the body wiring harness while working on the airbag mess and that caused all manner of electrical gremilins).

Still original brakes, on set 3 of tires.

My build date is 11/03, I've had a few dumb things happen that were all replaced under warranty. Broken hand brake boot, Fried head unit, trim pieces on the roof replaced, A/C condenser replaced, 2 broken shift *****, tail light fishbowls.... and the center console clip is broken (dealer did it when replacing the hand brake boot)

Other than that.... I drive the **** out of it, feed it oil, and it runs like the first day i got it. almost at 30k miles.

my only gripe is that i think i have the worst gas mileage out of every person on the forum. I get about 120 miles before yellow light from a full tank. (mostly city driving) I dont think anything is wrong with the car, cuz on long trips ive gotten 240 b4 yellow light.

Mine's just turned 4. Have replaced the starter b/c it needed a stronger one. Replaced coils, plugs, and battery just b/c they were due. 40,000 miles (60,000 kms) on my baby so far. Oh yeah, my mother-in-law backed into it once so it needed a new bumber ... can't really blame Mazda for that.

How do you find out the build date of the car? Is it on the original paperwork? (I bought it a year old, and have the papers, but never saw "build date" on there.) Clearly I have the VIN and stuff.
