Oh, btw, I use the handbrake all the time in -40F weather.

I have to, with a 6spd and a remote starter, you need to use put the shifter in neutral before pressing a button to set the starter.

This is to prevent people from remote starting the car and having it jet forward when no one is in it

Hit 0 here in northern Maryland/southern Pennsylvania. Took a couple seconds to crank, but it started and idled around 2k for about 20 seconds. CD player was skipping and shifting was a little rough until I was warmed up. All expected, though I didn't think the CD player would do that

Remote starters have all they need to bypass the electronics for the clutch switch, the key chip (most use a valet key chip) and for manual cars have a proceedure in place, (like a sequence of things to do) and putting it in neutral to make sure the car isnt a danger to the public.

They have different remote starter models for Automatic cars and Manual Cars because they require different functions.

AZ Phoenix

Phoenix was gorgeous today. I bought a new Saris bike rack and took my mountain bike for a 4 hour bike ride through the desert.

The only symptoms I have is a slow start and the tire pressure light on. My idle will go up to about 3k dead cold and stay there for a few seconds, then slowly come down to around 1k but the idle is steady and does not jump around. Then again, the coldest it has been here has been about 9 not negative 9.

The only time I had the check engine light flash was when I ran the RPMs up to 7500 on the highway after only driving it for about 5 miles. I assume it wasn't fully warmed up even though the temp gauge was up to normal and the tire pressure light was out.

I moved to Alaska from Florida. -30. I got similar symptoms to TC, but now the 8 sits in the garage since I didn't want to spring for snow tires; and it's useless in snow and ice with the original potenzas. CEL light should go off though.

it's *warmed up* a LITTLE here in ann arbor and the roads got plowed pretty clear of snow so i finally took the 8 out for the drive to dinner woohoo! even blipped the redline on the way back and heard the beep now it's back to the carport as we brace for another arctic front. i hate the cold

i filled the tires when it's 30-40 outside to get rid of the tpms light, and now in the 20's it's lit up again. i also get the 3-4k jump upon start when it's in the teens. a bit scary, but it goes away shortly. oh and my cd player acts funny when it's cold, too. i hate the cold

my 8 has had similar symptoms once. it had the fluxuating idle, higher than normal idle (4K) when warming up, and the tpms told me the tires were low.. ally symptoms went away afer a minute or so of idling. after a day of driving, i rechecked the tires and they were all a tad low. no similar problems as of yet and we are in the negatives here in Ohio as well. mostly at night though. today is supposed to be a high of 32..that means i'm taking the 8 up to the car wash and i'm going to bucket wash the car.

I get everything but the cell up here in NH. Last Friday I woke up to it being around -10. Nothing like the feeling of your nostrils freezing as you walk out to warm up the car.

In Colorado, where South Park claims it snows until July, it's been 60 degrees and sunny for about a week. Just saying.

Today, we're going to hit low 60's, then tomorrow mid 50's...

Odd January weather...If it's warm on Saturday, I'll wash my car again. It's already getting dusty But if it's anything like the past few weeks, Wed/Thurs/Fri are all really warm, then Saturday and Sunday it's low 30's.
