He's wrong, leave it on. Unless you're having trouble getting up a hill, DSC will save you more than it will hurt you.
Go slow and smooth. Don't engine brake as agressively as you would normally as that can cause you to break traction; brake normally instead. The smoother you are the better. Brake well in advance of an intersection and make sure you have grip before doing anything at all.
How far will you be driving, and on what kind of roads? Plowed or not, and what sorts of speeds?

I personally would turn off the traction controll, but since you cant turn JUST that off, I turn them both off.. I dont like not having full control, I dont want the car telling me how much throttle to give it, it doesnt know what conditions im in or what obstical I am, or am about to face

thanks guys for all the feedback! i decided what im going to do is stay an extra day in lafayette. the weather is supposed to be clear tomarrow, and ill be on interstates and highways all day, so i think i should be fine. im also putting new plugs in my 8 as of right now, so ill pick it up from the shop tomarrow and head straight north. personally, i think my all-seasons will hold up fine, though. this ride back home will probably we the last time i ride the Rx for the season. thanks again!
