Name Your RX-8
I'm curious to know what other members have named there RX-8
For me, i've named my car first car Clarissa. My car is titanium color and i drive nice and smooth with my 8. I keep it as clean as possible 24/7, No modifications have been done to it other then getting some nice wheels so Clarissa just sounds right for my RX8.
I find that Clarissa is a very proper , clean and presentable name. Which leads to my car
As well I I chose Clarissa because that is one of my favorite names for girls and Intend to use it for my first daughter in the future.

The 8 is Aiko (female Japanese name).
The 5 is Akio (look twice at the spelling :D it is a male Japanese name)
The 7 is Akina (for those Initial D fans, yep that's what it is)
All our cars have one surname as well, for the original company that is now Mazda: Toyo-Kogyo.

Bartleby the Rotarian.
Now one might wonder how I got to that . . . reasonable question. I have a lightning yellow eight that I started refering to as Bumblebee, just cause, and since it was phonically similar to Bartlebee, I started calling it Bumblebee the Scrivener, after the Melville novel. Well, that lead to Bartleby the Scrivener, but of course the 8 isn't a Scrivener. So, I renamed it "Bartleby the Rotarian". Makes perfect sense to me!

I started a similar thread a while back but it got moved to the Lounge. Dunno why; it seams like a legit topic for "RX-8 Discussion."
"Evangeline" was also the title of an epic poem by Longfellow.

My god-daughter named it ZOOM-ZOOM long before I took delivery 1.5 years ago. So the name, however un-imaginitive, has stuck like glue. My co-workers call it Zoom-Zoom also. In fact, one gave me the Zoom-Zoom decals that I put in the rear window.

My old black Camaro was called the Batmobile by my friends. My new black 8 is called The Black Hawk by my friends. I don't really call my car anything...

Buddy.
My '88 Nissan Sentra that I drove for 15 years and 175K miles was also Buddy. It was also red. It was also fun to drive in it's own slowish sort of way. I have a lot of good times associated with Buddy.
Since my 8 quickly became my friend too, I thought it a fitting tribute to it's predecessor. I don't really care for the Junior thing, so it is just Buddy as well.

My wife and I decided to call it Remis for several reasons:
1. My wife is a big Harry Potter fan and likes the names in the books...we have a cat named Neville (because he is a big wuss!)
2. Our last car was a 1996 Honda Accord( great car ) named Sirius...because it was black and if you have read the books you will get that.....
3. In the books, Remis and Sirius are best friends
4. I like how it goes with Renesis...
So, my 8 is Remis Renesis.
