NE feedback after having heatshield recall done?

Next Wednesday I have an appointment for my 8000 km maintenance and I am also going to have the heat shield recall done.

I noticed when reading the TSB that drastic software changes are made to reduce heat. For example, if you rev the engine to 8500 rpm while under 2 mph for more than 10 seconds, the engines is electronically throttle back to 1100 rpm.

The 'R' flash had positive results on this forum. There is a flash specific for this recall and I was curious if anyone has had the work done and what your opinion is on the results.

TIA

It is the "R" flash. If you have an '04 six speed, that is. '04 auto's get the "S" flash. '05 six speeds get the "E" flash, '05 auto's get the "F" flash.

After reading the postive results of the R flash, I guess they aren't going to flood the engine with more fuel to keep the temp down :D

So far it just has a rev limiter added to keep excessive idling rpm's down. it's still a stupid solution. they outta heatshield it properly.

as i have mentioned before in other threads and the Recall thread- 2004 cars have different flash file names than 2005 cars. and 2005 cars are seperated furthur by fed/canada emissions and california emissions.
