Need advice, which car to take?

Alright, My girlfriend and I are going on a road trip from SD to San Fran and I am trying to decide which car to take. On the one hand I have my baby a nicely modded 03 Evo and on the other I have my daily stock RX8. I am having a hard time deciding.
Evo
Good: is better on gas, has a lot more room for luggage/stuff, more fun to drive, I would love to get some sick pics of it in the city, is hardwired with my Radar, has a better stereo, and better seats.
Bad: coilovers on it are stiff, possible road damage, don't really want to put all those miles on it, someone hitting, stealing, damaging it in the city, rolling in the city of crazy hills with a lowered evo, she is temper mental sometimes and hates traffic, and might limit coastal exploring on dirt roads.
RX8
Good: Comfy ride, good handling, all stock so nothing to steal, not worried about where I park it, smooth and quiet motor, and better turning radious then evo
Bad: Worse mpg, less space, radar would have to plug into lighter, not as fun to drive, don't have the wheel lock so I better not get a flat, and have to fix front air dam before trip.

The other option would be to take my g/f 97 Volvo 960, but it is slow, boring, and handles like a boat. Since there is no way I am missing out on the prime coastal roads I must decide, so tell me what would you do?

don't get me wrong the rx8 is really fun to drive which is why I drive it daily, but the trubo and awd make it a little more fun.

taking a 2400 mile trip in 2 weeks to colorado from ohio in the 8. I've taken it for a 2000 mile trip and thought it did great the first time...always remained comfortable. No complaints at all.

I wouldn't think twice about making the trip in the 8.

Yawwwn - are you seriously posting this question in an RX8 forum? They are both your cars, and you're the one doing the driving. Which one do you want to take?

If enough of us tell you to take the Volvo, will you do it?

Ride quality would be my main concern, as long as you can fit all the luggage.

But I wouldnt want to put so many miles on the 8, so take the beater.

I was just trying to get some other people who care about their cars as much as I do's opinions. If you all had great reasons for taking the Volvo i would consider it. If a few of you had really bad experiences in SF with the hills or some other bs then that would have an effect on my decision. So I am just asking a few friends what they would do.

Take the volvo, that way if something does go wrong, it's not one of your babies that has the problem, although...your g/f might get pissed!

Well I am kinda worried the Volvo will take a crap since it is so old and all in all it will be a bore to drive. So I am really stuck between the RX8 and the Evo.

Well you went into more detail about the Evo than you did the 8, I think if something being stolen is your worst fear then that's just a ridiculous reason to not want to take it since it's your obviously more partial to the Evo than the 8

In my 8, even though it's stock, it didn't stop some punk from breaking in the passenger side window and taking a look around.

Any car is at risk for thieves, your Evo just has more to offer.

Hmmmmmm........on a long trip, I would probably take the RX8. The EVO is a great drivers car, but it can get rather uncomfortable on long trips due to the suspension. Both cars are fun (equally so in my opinion), but in a trip that long your main concern especially for your girlfriend is her comfort level.

Take the 8, as long as you can fit the luggage without affect seating position.

You know what, you're absolutely right - I guess I was in a bad mood last night

For what its worth, I would take the RX8
