Lightbulb NEED a favour guys!!!

Can someone do me a favour please!!!

Open both front doors. Now try and lock the front driver door by pressing the door lock button (button inside door) whilst its open (it should not lock, and the button should flip open again).

Now do the passenger door too... Does that remain shut!?!

(I ask purely as the button jammed earlier today on the passenger side. Want to know if it not doing what the other door does is normal or its broken.)

THANX V.much!!!

Z

Uhh, Guess I have better things to do, why are you trying to lock your doors with them open to begin with???

Where you doing this with the key in the ignition???? Because the car wont let you lock the door with the key in and will automatically unlock if you try to lock it.

Ok, lemmie try n explain that a bit better.

Basically car came back from Mazda after first service. The passenger door wouldnt lock when remote was pressed, yet all otherS would. Took a closer look and the little button on the door was jammed open (dont ask how, as i dont know) anyway.. i un-jammed it .... Now...

When the key is my pocket (not ignition), and the passenger door is open, if i try n lock the button (that was broken). i can do. It locks.

If i try the same with the driver door. It cant be locked.

Is this normal or is the passenger door broken.

I thank you.

I think your passenger door may be broken. Here's what happens with mine: With the keys in my pocket and both doors open, both WILL lock and stay locked. With the keys fully inserted into the ignition neither door will stay locked with the doors open to avoid locking your keys in the car. Hope it helps.
