Hello everyone I am new here and just today I went to a local Mazda dealership and applied for a used 2004 Rx-8. Upon test driving it I noticed on the dashboard a yellow light that remained on. I questioned the car salesman and he responded, "that light means that the tires are either low in pressure one of our techs can take care of this problem very easily." I then asked him for the manual and he mentioned he believed this car did not have any when it got traded in. My question is what does this light mean? It is located on the upper left corner and it looks like the letter i with curvy lines on both sides. By the way this car is manual if that has anything to do with it. Your help would be appreciated..

 

just gotta air the tires to 32 psi, drive around for a few minutes then it should go away

 

Definitely tire pressure monitoring system, which just means pressure is low in at least on tire...this may also lead you to look at the tread on the tires to make sure you are not going to need new tires a couple months after you but it. Also, if the dealer really wants to sell it, they will get you a new owner's manual. No reason you should not be able to get one. I would look at one of the new RX-8s on the lot and compare it to the 04 you are looking at to make sure nothing else is missing. The 06 is almost identical to the 04.
