complete polar opposite in age from me
I love how the rx8 attracts all age ranges. I especially enjoy how the older guys dont have a problem talking to the younger guys rather than gravitating to people in their own age group. Its just another reason what makes this car so great, a dedicated community of drivers.

Cars are a cool thing, because they can unite people that otherwise have nothing else in common. I can talk cars with a 65 year old that has a '69 Camaro Z28 or a teenager with a WRX, it's all the same language. Unless you drive a primered Civic with hacksawed springs and a fart can, then we might have a challenge understanding each other.

push the clutch in-->put in first-->gas to 2krpm-->slowly release clutch-->gas and shift to second.
if you are having trouble releasing youre foot from the brake at a stop and then applying it to the gas, that just takes practice in taking off efficiently, Or you can practice using the e-brake. Though you are doing so many things its hard to learn, clutching, braking, gasing, shifting and releasing the ebrake.
the ebrake technique is especially useful on steep inclines or when an ******* in an automatic doesnt know youre manual or doesnt know that manual cars roll back and stops an inch from your bumper.
In my area ive only had to use the ebrake once or twice and it was after i mastered manual. The more practice you have, you can release the brake and clutch and gas and release clutch without moving back. It just depends on how much practice you get.
Let us know how it goes.
