all will void the warranty on the exhaust b/c it is aftermarket. not sure if you get a cat-back if it will void it all on the exhaust, just what you have installed.

There *is* a search function you know.

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/rx-8-aftermarket-exhausts-summary-16442/

It's the first sticky thread in the Aftermarket section. Look around there for good info and opinions.

Exactly. The Magnuson-Moss act says that if you install an aftermarket part, it can only void the warranty of that part of the car. So installing an exhaust will only void the warranty on your exhaust, not on the rest of the car.

^ the above is true, unless you change the catalitic converter....that counts as modifying the emissions system and that can void the warrenty that is on the engine.

Most exhaust systems are 'cat-back' meaning they are just the piping and silencer after the emissions system...so your muffler wont be covered by Mazda anymore but it also shouldnt affect work if you say, damage your motor down the road.

Although the dealer will bitch, theres now much they can do.

The Mazdaspeed muffler is from mazda, so it wont affect the warrenty in any way, and the dealer should be fine with it. Its not the cheapest out there, or the loudest, or the best looking IMO, but it might be something you like.

Try to find members in your area that have aftermarket mufflers.....see waht sounds/looks nice to you.

I personaly like the Hymee and HKS and JIC.

Unless the dealer can show (or claim) that the after-market exhaust system caused other failures in which case those failures would not be covered by the warranty.

I like racing beat exhaust, it might not be the taste ur father would like, its loud, but the "cool factor" is way up. As with the performance. but like they said^^^^^^^^ u are just voiding ur waranty on ur exhaust... which isnt anything bad at all. Just have ur father talk to the dealer and ask them. it should be more comforting for him to ask a service advisor instead of us...
