Need some help with a TSB
Hey guys,
I do a lot of lurking and seldom post, but I have to ask a favor from some of you.
The slider on my center console lid has been broke since I bought the car 2 years ago. I had been repairing it myself with super glue which had been working very well, but I recently took the car in to have the parking break rubber piece at the bottom replaced and they broke the sliders again. I cannot find the broken off pieces anywhere in the car and so I am now forced to either fix it or deal with the console being loose.
I went in to Mazda and they told me that they couldn't do anything about it unless I wanted to pay the $600 dollars for the new lid assembly. I have read on here that it is a very common problem and that there was a TSB for it, but I have not been able to find it. Could you guys please help me find it or even offer some advice on how I might get them to cover this under warranty?
I tried to argue with them that this does not fall into the wear and tear category considering it was a poor design to begin with and the fact that they broke it (I also haven't mentioned that they left a scrape in the leather on the parking break handle or that they slightly scuffed my shift **** due to the hassle involved with getting them fixed).
Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!
