Never knew this MPG study existed - can you add to it?

Zoom44 was good enough to point out these old threads to me. It is a survey of RX-8 mpg that is really great. I have noticed that most of the data is from 03. If you get the chance could you add your information to this thread. I have found about an additional 15 user's data and if you add your data I will compile a new set of graphs and post them. The original complier did an excellent job with this.

Two other pieces of information you might want to include is your average miles you drive per trip(ie how far do you drive to work one way) and what is the temperature you are driving in when reporting you mpg.

Collect data:

Report on data:

Thanks ahead of time for your help.

I found the first line of the first thread you linked to funny.
" I know this MPG topic has been beaten to death," That is from a 10/2003 thread.

Raptor75, what is the point about bringing this up again? If you feel something is wrong with your 8 go to the dealer. You were given possible things for them to look at in one of your other MPG threads. Me posting that I get 21 MPG means nothing to someone getting 15 MPG.

Note to self: Start a MPG thread ASAP.

I would like to know if flashs from 04 and 05 improved mpg. Knowledge is power, the more we know the better we can deal with this issues. As you pointed out this data is old, lets see what improvements have been made after 3 years. When I go to the dealer I want all my ducks in a row.

The last flash to make any big impact on mileage was the M-flash, which was issued in spring 2004. If your 8 was built after spring 2004 you have the best flash Mileage wise. Also the most recent flash was issued to all 8's last year as part of the fuel tank recall but didn't effect mileage. Thinking that your flash level is affecting your MPG was valid back in 2004, not today.
