Hello everyone....

I've been a long time lurker here. Been interested in the RX8 for quite some time. Well, last week....after months of debating...I finally pulled the trigger on one! And so far....I'm lovin' it.

I picked up an 04 that was/is in incredible condition. Only 39k miles, grand touring package, NAV, Xenon lights, etc. For a killer deal, I couldn't pass on.

I love the way the 8 drives...I'm really impressed with it. It's incredibly nimble, and predictable. It makes driving it very easy. It's more forgiving than pretty much any other car I've driven.....even when it's driven hard. It's really well balanced....and a total joy to drive. Of course....the car is dead sexy. I've already gotten approached a couple times about it....in the week I've owned it. You really don't see that many around.

I've been getting a lot of "jokes" my way from a lot of my car buddies.....mainly because this is my other car (though it doesn't have the stripes anymore, was for a show).



HAHA So you can see....it's quite a change. Even for me. The LS1 is a totally different animal. I'm so used to that low end grunt, that the 8 has taken some getting used to. But I still love it....for what it is. Once it hits around 4,500 RPM's....it opens up, and is amazing. Some people just don't realize this. I tried to tell some of my buddies....it's not all about "straigt line" performance. LOL

I've already got plans for it. Put in a drop-in K&N last week. Tein S Springs are coming next week. I'm currently in the process of narrowing down my wheels choices. Window tint will come in the next few weeks. Eventually...I'll be looking into some FI options.

So, I just wanted to finally introduce myself.

HUGE jump. Good decision, you'll be happy with it as long as you never expect to to be a drag queen Might I also recommend as a cheap starter mod some clear corners? Amber sticks out ridiculously on that color RX8.

Yeah, it's totally different. I still have the TA....and the RX8 is a good contrast to it. Frankly, it makes the TA feel like a boat to me.

Yeah, clear corners are definitely on my list.

 

Nice find - your car is my twin! Well, before I modded mine that is.

Looks like you've got some sort of brake mod there (red brake calipers). Looks good. Welcome! I'm a new RX-8 owner myself (as of last week).

Nah....it's got the sunroof, and spare tire kit too. No aeros, or wing....I purposfully looked for one without them. I kind of like the way the 8 looks with none of that on it.....especially when it's dropped, with some rims. Though....I also got it that way, so I have some choices.

And no...still talk to her, but we broke up a little while ago.

compared to the 8, the ta is a boat. the ta is american though, only 1 car (corvette) can really compete with foreign sports cars.

man the corvette can kick some serious ***. thats totally my next car. once my 5 grand a year insurance drops a bit. i doubt i can afford corvette insurance.
