New car - New member
New to the site - I purchased a used 8 this past Saturday. I also have a low mileage (40,000) RX7 which I track at Road Atlanta. I hope to meet some of you on the road/track. (GA RX8 club??) any info on a local club would be great.
2007 Sport Manual with only 3200 miles : Stormy Blue Mica
Racing Beat products will follow - my 7 has many RB products and I love em.
(no traction control) the 7 has nothing at all so I am used to it. I love this car and it will be my daily driver. Presently drive a G35 sedan and while it is quick it is dull in comparison.
Heard the 9k buzzer a few times today - previous owner did not drive it hard apparently as the exhaust was a bit black - now a nicer shade of grey.

Redline it
I love the sound it produces and I am impressed with the performance given what the detractors say. Smooth engine!! Some ricer in a Nissan had a nose full of hot rotary exhaust today on my way home. I did smell his oily engine -and his juiced engine does not meter it

I will try to load some photos of both perhaps this weekend if I the weather holds up. I have plenty of the 7 but none of the 8 as yet. The 7 is all original with the exception of the suspension with all Racing Beat components and 5 way Tokico struts/shocks. Have all orig parts. Runs on 15 inch powder coated BBS wheels
I have a video of the 7 at Road Atlanta only 6 minutes of video(max allowed) at www.atlantacarshows.org
Video is listed under *most popular with 152 views and a red corvette in front of me -. not for long as their is no replacement for displacement and I am in a PDX class C event. - Track views and the hood. The vette driver was good and he has 300 hp more. LOL

Wasn't sure where to start, but this looks as good a place as anywhere. I'm in the same boat as 8Track. Bought my new 2010 RX8 last Friday. Had it out Saturday in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, beautiful tight turns everywhere I went. I still have a huge smile on my face.
I stepped into a Mazda3 two years ago & learned what ZOOM ZOOM really meant, but I had to have more.
After a trip to the Portland Auto show, several trips back to the Mazda display it was less than 2 weeks before I was behind the wheel of my new RX 8.
What a drive. Now I'm hoping I can get enough satisfaction rocketing around tight corners to be able to stay off the gas and out of the sights of our local authorities with their laser guns. What a challenge.........behing the wheel of a red rocket with a lead foot and gleeming white windshield from the Jimmy Carter style smile inside, I know I have to be standing out like a sore thumb.

Thanks for the welcome guys!! My GTU is an FC and I have owned quite a few FB's including a GSL-SE. It is nice to have both and if Mazdatrix would have shipped my order when I paid on Tuesday I should have my cat back installed and a drop in K&N and plugs installed in the FC on Monday. Hoping for fast but safe truckers. I work for a large insurance company and we insure the truckers NOT AIG we make money and do not need a bail out (I digress).
That white car was an Audi but I can tell you that my FC is often all over the bumpers of WRX STI (leans badly) and many high power cars - too bad for them the 7 handles so much better. They catch me on the straights and I catch them later in the many turns of Road Atlanta. March 21 I have another PDX - You guys should come out it is $100 for 2 or 3 sessions.
8 mods will include front sway bar and custom adjustments to the rear bar. I want to put Amsoil in and replace the factory fluids. Thanks again ,,,,, 8TRACK
