New to forum & RX-8
Hello everyone. I figured I'd introduce myself formally before posting / answering. I recently became the owner of a 2004 Lightening Yellow RX-8 6-speed. I bought the car on a whim (I know this was irresponsible), but immediately fell in love. I've had some issues already that the dealer where I bought it from has fixed for free (heat switch, catalytic converter replaced and the ignition system). I'm not sure of the trim level, but it doesn't have leather, bose audio, sunroof, spoiler or color matched chin spoilers, so im guessing a bare bones model. With a warranty, tax, title, the price was about 12k. Car had 53k when I purchased it. Im pretty mechanically inclined, so i will be reading up on your tech info and helping where i can.

Yeah, have to be honest. Yellow was not even a color I had considered. I wanted a VR or WB... Found the listing for the LY and figured I'd go take a look.
I remember rounding the corner and you could not help but notice the car above all the others around her, she stood right out. That plus the crazy shine of the fresh polish...
The miles were crazy low (19,450), the price was good and when I saw the condition of the car (nearly flawless) I really couldn't say no. Been smilin' ever since and I don't think I would want any other color now.
Now I just need to get off my cheap *** and get some Teins and new wheels on it. Can't seem to get my grip loose on the damned wallet.

I hadn't even considered an 8 at the time. My daily driver was totaled (rear ended) and my backup car spun a main bearing. I had been looking at sti's and evo's, but the price was to high. But I needed a car ASAP, and I wasnt gonna settle for some stupid lifeless run of the mill car. So I searched autotrader and found this. Because I needed a car now, I didn't research. I was initially scared of the whole engine failure thing, but once i read I understood the reasoning. This car required your attention. People don't want to put that into their cars. To me, it gives my car character. You get out what you put in.
