New guy here, does anyone actually like their RX-8?
#26
I've had my RX-8 for just over a month now, and I absolutely love it.
I got home about 10pm last night, from a four day trip up to Tacoma and the Olympic Peninsula, which was a 5 hour drive in our CR-V. As soon as I got home, I asked the family "Do we need anything from the store?", looking for an excuse to get into the 8, even though I was exhausted. But then I realized that I haven't washed it in a week, so I didn't want to take it out of the garage.
Time for me to close the laptop and get out the Meguiars suds!

What kind of failure your talking about? Is it the way i did my springs? C'mon now, this is old news. Anyway, both of my cars are still running fine, the shocks haven't blown yet (a lot of people said...it will only be a few months...but it is going to be almost a year now by November, and it hasn't blown yet). Further more, i have a good job, a nice house, a wife and 2 kids (boy and girl), living in a nice neighborhood, my wife's a manager in a local restaurant...so, is that what you call failure? You have to ask that question if i'm a failure? I think you are the failure! Don't bother me again, because i don't even bother you!
P.S. I even serve this country for 3 years in the U.S. Army...and your still calling me a failure?! Your dumb!

True Enough. It is entertaining! but on the off chance it's serious - the internet can't display any voice tones. It's not to relay that in words so people don't get offended.

I've had my RX-8 seven years now and I've hated every day of ownership. It takes me to work everyday and takes up a spot in my garage every night. I have no idea why I've suffered with it for so long.

If you're asking me in reference to failure, without thinking, I can pull one(Decarbing RX8) of your worthless quote in this forum in less than five minutes to reiterate the fail in your part to suggest misleading information!
Well, I served as a Medical Corpsman for six and a half years and five of those I proudly served with the United States Marines, my last Unit? 1st Marine Air Wing, Marine Air Group-12(VMFA-212), Marine Air Logistic Support-12, Marine Wing Service Support-171(MWSG-17); all three are based in Iwakuni, Japan. Part of the MAGTF's ACE, we were one of the first Marine Air Wing Support Units that helped the 31st MEU's MMH(UH-1N, AH-1W), HMH(CH-46, CH-53), and FA-18 Super Hornets that contributed in Iraq theater during the OIF and OEF in Afghanistan
Well, I'm calling to end this off-topic discussion by adding a portrait of my family; mocha, moshie, mochi, mushie; whatever your name is, hope this help heal your broken feeling

I think someone missed the humor in his comment...
Honestly, this forum exists only because we're all fanatics of hating the RX-8. While most car forums are dedicated to a car because of how awesome it is, the RX-8 needed a forum to constantly complain about how painful it is to own one.

Don't worry about it.
You can find someone to hate ANYTHING on the internet. Somewhere, there is a group of high school boys that hate sex...on a forum somewhere.
I do not need other people to validate my purchase after the fact, and, as you researched first, I seriously doubt you do either.
I have a lovely little "S" curve on the way home from work that takes care of any doubts I might start to have. The car is a flat joy to drive.
That doesn't make it perfect. Sheesh, it needs more torque in the worst way, but it isn't like the car is completely gutless no matter what the guys with big V-8s say (unless you want to race 1/4 miles...then you made a big mistake).
So while we (or at least I) don't blindly believe it is without flaws, I really love driving the car that I bought. I have a wish list of improvements, but there isn't a perfect car out there. Even if it was perfect for me, it would not be for you.

It's hard to hate a car I love for close to 8 years with no issues or cost to me. Gas it up and go. the car is reliable and awesome. I got a gem right off the start. Sorry for you who have not had as good of luck. The rx8 is a classic.

When I was in high school, I hated sex. But I still loved The Rx8.
After high school, I bought my own Rx8. Loved it since then. Also got a girlfriend who made sex awesome. Loved it then.
*Ahem* Hai gaiz.
Okay seriously, put me down as someone else who could write a long sappy love story about my Rx8. I'd love to do so now, but I'll spare y'all the time, haha.

Please refer to this thread, I think it will answer that question: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/little-things-67045/

Sadly, instigating you had pushed you to the limit. If it's any consolation I work 16 hour shifts for Kaiser Permanent to provide for my family, I have a daughter and not married to my beautiful girlfriend living only in an apartment located in Sherman Oaks just north of and below the Hollywood Hills; besides my well maintained RX-8 without 'HOMEMADE-LOWERING-SPRINGS', my two ANGELS are "second-to-none".

I'm not really gonna say a lot, but no harm done. You have a beautiful family and you guys should get married soon. Anyway, it's not a big deal and if you guys decided to get married...don't forget to invite me...lol
