New guy from Maryland
Hello all,
Well I am going tomorrow to look at and possibly purchase my first 8. Found this forum and figured I would join up.
Hoping to find alot of info on here that I can use for the car as I am a guy that can not leave anything stock for very long. I have been modding Diesel trucks for the last 6 years and messed with honda's before that.
Been doing some searching and reading and sounds like I have alot to learn as the Rotary engine is WAY different then the piston engines I am used to.

While it is WAY different. The general priorities are still the same, and if you're mechanically inclined and literate, you'll pick up on this engine very fast, especially if you read at least a post a day here.
Read up in the major horse power upgrades section, a lot of good diagrams and information to be had there.
Goodluck, get a compression test on that '04

Well no go on the 8 today. Car ran great but had a few things cosmetically wrong with it that the guy forgot to mention and the heat didn't work. Ended up passing on it but I did take it for a test drive and after ripping through the gears a few times I am hooked! Had not driven one before today but instantly was in love.
Def will have one of these in my driveway in the near future.....

What year did you check out? An 04?
I would suggest paying a bit more and going with a newer 8.
An 04, depending on mileage is around 7-10k. You can get an 06-08 (lot less miles) for around 13-16k. That gives you more time on the 8y/100k mile warranty on the engine core.
