A New Low!

A New Low!
I got an unholy 14.4mpg out of my last tank of gas. I don't drive meekly, the A/C's been on all the time, and it's been real humid out. I guess those three factors colluded to give me this figure.

get the accessport. Some of you with low mileage will also get low mileage even on highway. The cruise maps are designed to dump fuel after going into open loop. There can be fairly significant gains by tweaking it.
My last fillup was 18.3 mpg and I didn't baby it, and it was almost all city driving. An improvement of 3-4 mpg over what I usually got.

Your wrong, we were complaining 4 yrs ago when the price was half what it is now. At that time my mileage was 12-13 mpg during my daily commute. Today, my mileage is 15-16 mpg. Of course, that is after 2 engine changes.

My experience has been the same. I drive it fairly aggressively and try to redline at least once every trip, so I don't know if I'm just lucky . . .
Of course the way the roads around here are clogged with Betty Crockers in enormous SUV's and angry emasculated men in mini vans, the you can only be so aggressive.

The best I have ever done is 22.6 on a highway road trip. The worst I have ever done is 11 mpg in very spirited back country driving. That was all N/A.
Now my 8 is turbo'ed and running a very-rich-in-boost base map until I get it tuned. The vacuum portion of the tune is pretty lean, but needs work. That bit I'll likely do myself as it's more light-throttle driveability rather than might blow your engine X psi. On a trip over the weekend? 18.8 mpg mostly highway. I could definitely see my car still doing 20 mpg pure highway.
I wonder, though, how much people's mpg is the way they drive and how much is their car. I'd like to see the results of people car-swapping to see what MPG they get in other people's cars. A car that uses 25% more gas than another is not running well.

I usually get 16-17 in town, and 20ish highway... and I have a fairly heavy foot. I always accelerate fast and brake fast. This isn't great, but a lot better than my last car.. 89 firebird, 8-10 in town, and 12-15 highway.
