Hi all. Just wanted to intro myself. I've had 3 rx7s (2 '79s and a '91 vert). I've done just about everything including 2 engine swaps and a conversion from automatic to manual on the rx7. I don't currently have a rotary car, but I miss it. I sat in an '04 back in 2003 and wasn't crazy about the back seat foot room (my feet got stuck under the seat when i sat back there). Plus when they lowered the HP numbers that was kinda depressing, so I bought a VW Jetta VR6 instead. It's ok and paid off now, but I would like to get back into a rotary powered car. I raced my '91 in the SCCA and won my local chapters' C-stock class 3 years in a row.
The things I like about the RX8 are the looks, the fact that it dominates the B-Stock class in the SCCA, the rotary engine, and since I have a family now, I can put the kids in the back seat.
I've read about the recalls, poor gas mileage and other issues some people have with the RX8, but that hasn't swayed me from wanting one. I can't wait to get back into a rotary powered car...long live the wankel.
