New Member- What's Up?

Hey guys. I just picked up an RX-8 over the weekend after holding off on one for over a year. It was a used '05 6 speed, just over 35K miles. Car is in great condition, justed changed all fluids, has 18" 5Zigen rims already installed. And it was my favorite color- Titanium Grey. Interior is super clean, engine runs smooth.

I've been researching the 8 ever since it came out and fell in love with it the first test-drive I took over a year ago. I still can't believe I finally have one.
I'm also not new to Wankel's- I owned an '88 RX-7 5 years ago as my first car and breifly owned a 1994 FD but it was too unreliable (as usual) and I had to dump it. I have been itching for a rotary ever since, and now I finally have one.

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself to the club. I plan on being an active member but I will be lurking/browsing for a while before I dive right in.

Later!

Dave

Welcome! You forgot to include what you plan on doing with this car in your first post

Modding up? Staying Stock? Wait-n-see?
Racer/Ricer/Drifter/Drager? Show car?

Let us know what sub-forum we're most likely to find you lurking in

Well I'm really into modding but parts are a little more pricey than I orignally anticipated for the 8. But one of my first ideas was the nifty little gauge panel from Racing Beat (I've done business with RB before and I think they're a good company) because I also understand that the stock oil press gauge doesn't even function and it's a fake gauge (???!!!) so I would like to monitor all that stuff. But then just see where to go from there- try to keep stuff tasteful.

Wow... an '05 with over 35K on it? I got an '04 in August 2006 and it only had 12K on it.

Welcome to the boards! (From one noob to another... ha)

Welcome - check out all the differnt parts of the club - down, off screen you can find listings of local clubs and events, where you are now, there is useful (and a lot of not so useful) information on everything from car wax to What Do It Do Now! In the Lounge current events, art, poetry, cannibalism, and as much as the moderators will permit is being discussed. Check out the car pics and post your own....
I think you are going to like the journey!

Yeah, I'm originally from Pittsburgh so right now in Phx it's 72 degrees and getting a little warmer every day. I don't miss the east coast weather on bit!
