I get a bit over the new ratings. As I've said in other posts, I've always gotten 1 to 2 mpg below the EPA ratings on every car I've owned that came with EPA ratings.

I have been getting 18-22 for three years now. Easy to get 17 with a heavy foot. So for me, the new rating is spot on. I'm glad it's more acurate but it's just another dig at car companies.
The EPA has raised emissions and economy standards so many times now that the car companies are about out of room for improvement. Sure you can get better gas mileage... in a plastic box that wont pass crash tests. Yep, you can get better emission... by chucking the engine all together replaced with an electric motor and about 1000lbs of batteries. They can't raise standards much more on the gas engine or cars will have to simply stop using gas. Thats what the dirt people want.

I drive lots of highway miles and have yet to get any better than around 21.5. If I drive sensibly (man its hard to do that..) I can get the 21 highway consistently. Around town and with my foot in it it seems closer to 15-16...maybe worse. Under throttle the rotary really loves to swill petrol. Bottom line is that the new mpg ratings appear much closer to reality.

Definitely the new one reflects better MPG. Lowest i've gotten so far is 16MPG. Highest i've seen so far is 19MPG. Combined average is just about right. 18MPG. I have yet to break 20MPG or even 22MPG figure on the HW tho.. Might be able to do those figures if it was a long road trip.

Gas guzzler tax should also be adjusted for the 10% ethanol being added to gasoline. That hurts mileage too and a lot of areas are getting it all year round - not just winter.

The new ratings are much better. It's extremely rare for me to see 22mpg, I've seen highest of 21mpg on the highway (and this was 55-60mph). My typical city mileage is 16mpg, so this is spot on.
Winter mileage is worse, getting about 14.5-15.5mpg mostly city.
The original ratings are a crock of crap. 24mpg on the highway? What, without A/C on a perfect 60 degree day without headwinds and a quarter tank of gas while doing 55mph?
