New nordic green RX-8
First of all, let me say that I've been lurking on this forum for about two years now. Ever since I bought my Mazda6, I couldn't shake the RX8. As much as I looked at the 6 and really liked its' performance and appearance - it wasn't RWD. Then they started selling really well and I went from being exclusive to almost Accordian.
Life is short...so I traded for an RX8 this past Friday on my lunch break. There was a freezing rain advisory so I left early. Man, this car is great!!!!!! Even during the break-in I can feel that this thing wants to run.
The interior is very similar to my 6 but more intimate. I feel like I'm in a cockpit of a jet fighter, not a car. I sat in my friend's 350Z and it was OK but the 8 is very driver friendly. Everything is just a touch away and my eyes never have to leave the road.
I don't care about the gas mileage or oil consumption, I know this is not a Honda Civic, where you set it and forget. This is a narrow focused sports car that needs constant attention and that's what I like about it.
thanks,
Sam

I agree. I didn't even want to see it when the salesman told me about the 2004 greenies he had left over. When I saw it, I thought it was black. I knew that it was mine right then...

I also have a green one. It ended up being my favorite color green from my youth - deep bluish green. I also have the chapparal leather accent interior. To go with that I got a mohagony shift **** from knobmeister. The car is a lot more stealthy than your garden variety red, blue white or yellow.

Same as Mica?
My wife had a '99 Miata in Mica Green. Isn't this the same paint with a different name? I have seen very few around LA, in fact most RX-8s I have seen are dark silver or light silver. Maybe that's what the dealers are stocking. Anyway, I'm curious what the difference between the two paint schemes (Nordic vs Mica) might be.
Enjoy your new car.

Green is good. Would have considered it but we had a green 626 for a decade and figured it was time for a change. Nordic green is a lot darker of course, but still . . .
Have fun, man.

Good luck with it. Although I have another color, my impression of the nordic green is that it looks terrific on a bright, sunny day. It will require some TLC, though--be sure to get one of those non-scratch dusters to touch it up between washes.
I'm curious about what kind of deal they gave you on the Mazda6. I like them also, and looked at them seriously before getting my 8.

Same color. The whole name is Nordic Green Mica 27C.

I owed $14k on my Six but only got $7k on trade-in. I knew that going on because I put 60k miles on it in less than 20 months. That's ok though because I got the RX8 for less than $24k so I "justified" the negative equity.

Ahhhhhhhh...my first rock chip on the front bumper. As I inspected my 2 day old RX8 I noticed a small chip up front. Oh well, just the first of many I guess, since I commute 100 miles a day on the Interstate.
