New owner :)
Hello all! So I am a new owner of a Nordic Green 2004 6 speed with about 48,000 miles. I am so very excited. I wanted one since they came out and I finally have one.
I will be sure to post pictures when I pick it up tomorrow. But it's exactly stock.
Now my question: How do I know if the numerous recalls the 2004 is affected by have been done? I know the sun visor wasn't because the passenger side is just hanging there.
Also, does anyone have an interior fuse box cover to sell me? That's the only thing this car is missing.
Brad

Welcome!
Congrats on your 8! I would have purchased a Nordic Green if they still offered that color in 09. Sorry I can't provide any info regarding your warranty. Just wanted to say congrats and welcome! I too had wanted an 8 since they first arrived and waited many years to get one. Definitely worth the wait! Enjoy.

I have had mine for 6 weeks...feels like I have owned it forever...congrats.
I went to the local Mazda dealer in Canada and they were able to tell me everything regarding recalls (I needed the latest flash) They were even able to tell me when the updated starter was installed.
Welcome, congrats and enjoy!

Welcome and congrats! Our color is rare, but it's good to see another NG in the mix.
You should be able to go to your local dealer or call with your VIN and they should be able to tell you if you're up for any recall work.
I bought mine with almost the exact same mileage. It's been ups and downs (rebuilding the tranny right now) but, when the car's running good, there's nothing like it. Enjoy!

Where did you buy the car? If it was from a Mazda dealer than all outstanding recalls would have been done during the used car certified inpection. I'm not sure about it if it was bought from another dealer, though. I'm an ex-Toyota service tech and when we did safety inspections on cars that were traded, if they had outstanding recalls, we would take them to the specific dealer to have them completed. But from talking with techs from different dealers from around my area, not everyone does that even though it goes against the safety inspection. I purchased mine used from a Mazda dealer and recall 4206F was done during their certified saftey inspection. Otherwise run you vin on mymazda.com

I'll get the pics tomorrow.
At the moment I'm angry.
First of all the remote doesn't work. Thought it was the battery but it wasn't.
Biggest issue though was probably my fault for not checking. I stopped for gas and noticed the oil light on so I checked the oil. Instead of it being a bit low like I expected, I saw the biggest horror I have encountered. Milky white on the end of the dipstick! I foresee a new engine out of this one...
I'm gonna try an oil change and see if it gets white again. No overheating and feels fine.
Also the right tail light is flooding but I heard drilling very fine holes every few inches along the bottom will fix that issue?
But it has a 30 day 1000 mile warranty from the dealer and I have a 2 year 25000 mile warranty with a $100 deductible bumper to bumper.

Yeah don't freak about the dipstick, I have the same problem. Freaked me out the first time I saw it too. Also my right taillight gets the condensation in it too. I never put an y holes in it though. I just live with it. Good luck.

I've been a Corvette guy for years, milky oil on the dipstick would likely mean blown head gaskets, or cracked heads or block. I got my 8 less than a month ago, checked the oil, and had the same feeling you must have had when checking yours. Fortunately it's like a family here, and almost every question has a simple answer. I didn't get a working remote with mine either lol, I'm still deciding between going to the dealer or going a different route.

Bummer. I would go back and complain. Don't be a huge ******** but don't let them push you around either. You just bought the car so demand it gets fixed. Does your window sticker list keyless entry? It should so bring that with you and let them know what's up.

I'm considering going with the switchblade anyways. The 2004 can do that right?
Oh another thing. Shouldn't I have an autodim mirror? Or was that an extra option?
And my passenger visor is flacid.
