Well oem ones will cost you around 130-180 for all four and they last around 30K miles. The bhr coils cost 485 and will outlast the life of the car. I built my own setup for about 150 cheaper. The coils are GM d585 yukon coils.

Course! Sorry about the quality. I don't have my camera nearby. Yay iphone.
And forgive the dirtiness. They didn't detail it. That's a job for this weekend. Dawn liquid to claybar to wash and wax...

Looks like mine when I bought it. I had to add the splash guards and side flares though, otherwise it looks a bit plain after a while. Nice color though, don't see too many around here.

NGK laser iridium plugs right? This can't be right. $20 each? Really??
I do only need 2 leading and 2 trailing right?
This is strange. I feel like I'm new to this car fixing thing.

I'm considering trying to find someone with a NG that has a spoiler that doesn't want it and see about trading trunk lids. Normally I hate the look of spoilers but this one just seems to work with the lines just right.

Haha, thanks but I'm not changing anything like that yet. I want to get it running perfect first then maybe try an intake. I'd really just like to give it a few extra horsepower. Get it to 250-275 maybe.
But yeah, for now I'd like to just enjoy it stock.

Haha just checking. To be honest, 250-275 will only come with a turbocharger. All of us NA guys will be lucky to make it over 200 wheel horsepower with mods. Sure Mazda claims the car makes 230hp, but thats at the flywheel, adding up all the drivetrain loss and stuff, most NA's dyno anywhere from 160-190hp at the wheels, depending on how healthy the engine is compression wise. Disappointing huh? And to be honest again, don't waste your money on an intake and catback. The stock airbox is good enough IMHO, just look up on the VFAD removal and "better flowing intake box" and then add a filter of your choice. As for the exhaust, catbacks will just add noise, no real power gains. Only piece in the exhaust that will gain power is a midpipe. I've been there, done that. I ran the HKS intake and exhaust for a bit and really didn't do much besides add a bunch of noise. I like the stock exhaust, all you hear is the sweet whine of the engine.

Thanks! Can't wait to find some twisties. Might be taking my old Reatta up to PA this weekend with my friend to sell it. It's 150 miles away. Highway there cause the Reatta can't handle what Rex can. On the way back, it's going to be all back roads. See if I can make it take 4+ hours instead of 2 1/2 like it should.

So frustrated. My new baby is now on a truck on the way to the dealer to fix it.
Was just driving. Pushed the clutch. Something pops and the pedal slid down to the floor. Now the clutch won't disengage. The pedal comes back up but I think something came loose down there.
Ahhhh!

Thanks for the link. I don't have my computer to search. Just my iPhone. How long will this take to fix and will this side lot dealer be able to figure it out and fix it?

Yeah I figured there was no cable. Called the dealer again today:
them:"mechanic says its the cable"
me:"impossible. it's a hydraulic system. there is no cable. it's the clutch pedal bracket. get a new pedal assembly from mazda and put it in!"
them:"well the mechanic told me it was the cable"
me:"must have been running without a cable for so long. surprised it hasn't stopped working yet..."
them:"..."
By the way, not paying for any of this. Otherwise I'd bring it to a Mazda dealership and try to get them to "one time fix" it for me. I'll be buying one of those extra braces for sale.

Drove it the way it was to and from Boston. The dealer swore it is the clutch cable that doesn't exist. I took it and ordered the part and I'll do it myself. It should be done tomorrow.
Anyways even with my crappy shifting and rev matching attempts I got an average of 22mpg. Mostly highway with a bit of stop and go traffic here and there.
