New owner 2008 40th AE purchased over the weekend
Hello -
Purchased a 2008 40th AE with 19K miles. Traded in a 2001 Audi A4 with 155K miles so this is truly a "new car" to me. Spent about 3 years looking and just interested in an RX8s. Came close this summer on a 2007 but the dealer negotiation ended badly.
Went in this past Saturday -- 4 degrees out -- took the car for a ride with the sales guy after looking at it online at their site, on autotrader.com and they had it on ebay - each with a different price.
Gave them a bottom line price of $17,500 with the trade and didn't negotiate even though the dealer wanted to start at $19,800 with the trade.
Perhaps not the best deal but I have my "winter car" 1979 Jeep Cherokee and now the RX8 -- waiting for the weather to warm up this weekend. Need to learn all the details of the rotary and how the car works.
Have learned much from this site already.

Manual - it is all stock and without the navigation. Not sure if it came with rotary highlight trim on the front spoiler and below the rear bumper or if it the 40th AE didn't have that.
Took a few minutes to figure out the "push down" to put it into reverse (my audi was manual 5spd but didn't require the push down) but I am figuring out the little details.
Since my other car is an old full size 1979 jeep switching between the two feels like I am traveling through time --

Haha that is awesome man, congrats! I bought my 2008 40th AE RX-8 this weekend as well! Same exact car except mine has only 2,500 miles on it, and I already logged 3oo this weekend! I hear you too about the difference between the 8 (or 8's in my case) and the jeep!
